This was the second large renovation and 3rd or 4th project we've worked on with Pat and his crew. Our high expectations were exceeded once again. Our project (a kitchen/pantry/mudroom/powder room reno) was completed in just over 3 months. The team was incredibly efficient, had great communication, and were a pleasure to have in our space for those 3 months (shout out to Ian & Helen, especially). Shawn provided trusted advice when we reached various decision points, has a great eye for details in the project, and always feels like an advocate for the homeowner with other trades. One especially notable thing about Pat's crew is their respect for the job site. At the end of every day, the job site was tidied up and left clean and orderly - something that even our neighbours noticed. Whenever someone is looking for a contractor, we always suggest Pat.

We were lucky to have Pat McCarthy and his team tackle a major renovation for us. The experience, from the first meeting to the final walk-through, was great and we highly recommend them! We were impressed by their professionalism and reliability. They gave us an ambitious, yet totally realistic, timeline and delivered on schedule. But what really set them apart was their commitment to high standards. They pointed out things to improve that we would have never even noticed, but made a huge difference in the final outcome. They went above and beyond the required scope. Communication was great. We loved their online platform, which they kept current, so we always knew exactly what was going on. On the financial side, their pricing was transparent and fair, and everything was accounted for. Beyond their work, this is just a great group of people. We trusted them being in our home every day. They even showed incredible kindness when we panicked about our cat potentially running away… Shawn spent an hour helping us look up and down the street! After an online search for suitable contractors in HRM for condo renos, we came across Pat and his company including their many positive reviews. Though there are many stories these days of other contractors and their less than professional services, Pat and his team exemplified exactly how professionals in this sector should interact with their clients and fulfill their expectations. From the moment we met Pat on his initial visit to prepare the quote through to the last invoicing with Alison via their Buildertrend app portal at completion of project, the overall experience was exceptionally efficient and respectful. This was especially appreciated as we do not normally reside in HRM and relied on Pat and his team to make many selections for our property at their discretion which we were most happy with. Pat is honest, transparent and fully engaged in ensuring his clients' satisfaction which are critical considerations when selecting a contractor. Though we did not have a chance to meet them, through daily logs (including pics) in their app it was obvious he had a very efficient and skilled team (Shawn, Josh, Helen, etc.) working on our reno as well as other sub-trades. I recommend this company without reservation whatsoever - it was a privilege for us to be able to have them complete our project and look forward to working with them again in the future (and the original quote was most competitive for the amount of renovation work completed on schedule and without major issue ;-)

We hired Pat McCarthys on referral to renovate our 90+ year old home. Pat, Shawn and their team were incredible to work with. Their honest, transparent recommendations made the process smooth and stress free. In particular their skilled woodworking craft made the new addition join seamlessly with the old. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation! Everyone we dealt with from ownership, admin, construction team and sub-contractors were great! We love our new bathrooms and are so happy we chose a great contractor who was able to make our bathroom dreams a reality!

Jan - Apr 2023 (original review never posted) Pat, Shawn and team completed a main floor/kitchen renovation in our home. There is not one negative comment to be made. The entire experience was seemless because of the utmost professional service Pat McCarthy Renovations provided. Incredible craftmenship and problem solving. Requests were always fulfilled and impossible was never spoken. The project went on time and we are thrilled with the outcome. Thank you!

My renovation involved the gutting of my master bedroom bathroom and installing a beautiful customized shower , heated tile floor , custom granite topped cabinets and top of the line plumbing fixtures. McCarthy renovations did an excellent job and their workmanship exceeded expectations. The workers were very professional and respectful as we were at home during most of the renovations. Unexpected issues arose which they do when renovating an older home and in our case , a townhouse. The challenges discussed with me and solutions found . Great communication and by using the app, could see daily tasks completed when we were out of town for a month Highly recommend Pat McCarthy!

Pat, Shawn and the team at McCarthy's provided a fantastic experience for our home renovation. Great communication and responsiveness. The team were very respectful while in our home, expecially with a toddler running around. Pat made sure we were completely satisfied before calling the project "complete". I highly recommend Pat and his team. My project (2 story addition) was completed on time. I was provided daily updates and a schedule to track the progress. The finished product exceeded my expectations.
