We had a bad experience. Make sure you get a well defined plan up front and then have her invoice you as the work is completed. I am now trying to get back the design fee paid to her in advance. There are lots of talented developers in Beaufort. I'd look elsewhere.

We have had the great pleasure of working with Michelle on two projects - one suburban and one country. It would be impossible to overstate how lovely, professional and exceptionally talented she is across the full spectrum of design - from big picture things like room construction/built-ins, room layouts, furniture, lighting, coordinated color/texture/patterns of fabrics and wall coverings, to the most minute details, including faucets, pillows, nicknacks and even plants. In addition, Michelle is - uniquely - both passionate about design and also very fiscally sensible and responsible, giving good advice as to where you need to focus budget and where you don't, and availing you of her extensive resources. She is also truly interested in understanding and giving you what YOU want, taking the time to really see things through your eyes, and using her considersble talents to deliver an even better version of your vision than you could have imagined. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Michelle Prentice did a fantastic job on this prewar total renovation. Several years later it still possesses timeless beauty and elegance yet so livable and functional. She translated my desires into a beautiful home. She worked seamlessly with our architect to make sure the project was well thought out and coordinated. She skillfully mixed modern and traditional styles to create an elegant and comfortable home. Michelle works easily with clients. Listens intently. Makes high quality suggestions that present the possibilities without veering off course. She has an impeccable talent with scale, texture and color. Her attention to detail is flawless. I would hire her again without question!

I've renovated and hired decorators for several apartments in Manhattan and houses in San Francisco. I was never satisfied until I hired Michelle Prentice for three apartments in Manhattan (after seeing her apartment in House Beautiful over 10 years ago). Michelle's style is clean lines, timeless, and most of all, she has the ability to bridge the several styles/time periods: classic traditional English, modern/contemporary, mid century, and even Asian. This is done by her use of unfussy pieces that are always one of a kind. I don't know how she finds these "treasures", but every piece is unique , be it a substantial piece of furniture or the perfect trash can for a bathroom. She always finds items that are of value, and will always give those savings to the client. Having worked with so many other decorators, Michelle is the ONLY one who I completely trust when it comes to what things actually cost. She can work with a ride range of budgets and will deliver the best possible finished product within those constraints. She is also a really wonderful person to work with. I give Michelle Prentice the highest recommendation possible.

Michelle has done the interiors on several of our projects. She is remarkable at what she does. You will not be disappointed!
