We used Ribbon & Reed for our recent renovation of three bathrooms. You won't find a better contractor than Joe Salerno. He is detail oriented, and doesn't lose sight of the job or what needs to be done. He plans everything meticulously. Joe is there to meet the workers in the morning and checks in throughout the day. All three of our bathrooms are perfect and we couldn't be happier.

Every morning we wake up to our beautiful kitchen and smile that we were lucky enough to find our wonderful contractor, Joe Salerno, of Ribbon and Reed Cabinetry. Every stage of a home renovation brings stresses of a different kind starting with the initial search for the right person. We interviewed four contractors and none of them came close to Joe’s professionalism, refinement and communication skills. He presents himself as an extremely experienced contractor and designer and not as a salesman. We felt instantly comfortable with his calm demeanor, his engineering knowledge, and his low-key confidence. As we moved along the design process, we felt that Joe was as invested in and excited by our project as we were. Joe goes the extra mile to earn your trust and your business. In his proposal, Joe gave a clear breakdown of the costs for each stage of the project. His contract described in detail the work to be done and the itemized costs. When the project was finished, all the work was completed as described and agreed upon, and there were no hidden costs, extra expenses or unpleasant surprises. While we dreamed about a new kitchen, we dreaded the months where we would be banished to a makeshift space with workmen invading our space. What can I say? Joe went above and beyond to make the process as painless as possible. Nothing was a problem and he never minimized our concerns at any time throughout the work. We were always highly comfortable going to him with our questions or exploring possible ideas. Joe kept us closely informed of the subcontractors’ schedule, delivery dates and projected completion of different phases of our project. His relationships with the subcontractors are excellent and, because he treats them with respect and professionalism, deadlines were always met and the results were flawless. He was always available on his cell phone and his communication was consistently clear, informative and helpful. He paid attention to detail that sometimes escaped us and never settled for “good enough”. His organizational skills and commitment to follow-through are part of his skill-set. His cabinets were top-notch and his pride in good craftsmanship and commitment to a quality project was always apparent. If you live in Northern Jersey and you are looking at cabinets,you heard the name Salerno. Joe Salerno lives up to his reputation. We asked Ribbon and Reed to build a master closet. It was a small job in comparison to what we have seen on their web page. Joe treated me as if I was his best customer. The closet is better than I imagined it could have turned out. My husband and I just built a new home in Bergen County, NJ. Joe Salerno transformed our 1970ish Formica kitchen into one that’s functional, inviting and elegant. I love to cook in it, and the family and our guests are enjoying the beauty of the space. The cabinets’ measurements had to be precise, and they were because the installation was completed without a hitch. Joe provided detail drawings of the moldings and paneling for the octagonal dome ceiling. My husband and I could not visualize what the final product would look like; ultimately, we relied on our trust in Joe and proceeded with the job. The result is breathtaking. When you work with Joe Salerno, you just know he has your interests at heart. He guided us throughout the entire process, from planning, to the estimate, to execution and completion. We followed his lead, and completed the job on schedule, and without the usual frustrations that accompany construction. We are very pleased to have hired Joe Salerno for this HUGE project!! He is so hardworking and a delight to work with. No problem is ever insurmountable for Joe. He is a master in kitchen and bath designs.

We just finished our Master Bath/Bedroom/Closet project, and we can't say enough about Joe and his team of professionals! We wanted someone who could coordinate the entire project so it worked seamlessly for us. Since our spaces were interconnected, we really wanted to have a plan that incorporated the entire project so we would know, in advance, that all of the space was maximized for our use. From the moment we met Joe, we knew he was our guy. When we were ready, Joe had all of his people lined up, we moved through each stage seamlessly, and questions were addressed promptly, professionally and without delay. We worked with Joe Salerno to completely gut and remodel our kitchen, butler pantry, and master bathroom. Besides designing our cabinetry, Joe acted as our contractor re-designing all the aforementioned spaces. He is fantastic-- honest, meticulous, detail-oriented, thoughtful, and creative. He conceived the layouts and assisted us with every last detail-- even childproofing our kitchen with hidden magnet locks. His contractors did impeccable work and were proactive to suggest when something additional was helpful-- in our case, chains to prevent cabinets from opening too far into our hood. Our custom kitchen truly exceeded our expectations. We would hire Joe again in a heartbeat.

Our kitchen renovation turned into the kitchen of our dreams and then some! Joe Salerno has a superior reputation in our town and surrounding towns alike as being one of the best in cabinetry. After one meeting, we understood why he's the best in his trade. We hired him and it was best decision we made. My vision was limited as we were turning our den into a kitchen. I was overwhelmed...Joe was not!! Joe methodically executed blueprints to our new kitchen. He created a space with functionality, lots of storage, and a beautiful flow. Joe Salerno, owner and designer, is the consummate professional. We completely renovated our kitchen and two full bathrooms and Joe spent many hours working with us over a period of six months to design and execute on our plans. His background in engineering informs his design work and he listened carefully to really collaborate with us on maximizing the functionality of our space. His attention to detail is impeccable and he patiently explained the renovation process through every phase. We had some tricky space constraints but every single appliance fit perfectly within the beautiful cabinetry thanks to his meticulous drawings. When we couldn't decide on a color for our cabinets, he special ordered multiple samples so that we could select precisely the shade we wanted. His recommendations to us from contractors to vendors for appliances, plumbing fixtures, countertops, stone and tile are testament to his ability to work well with others because everyone met their deadlines. He also passed along his substantial vendor discounts for plumbing fixtures. We love our new kitchen and bathrooms and Joe was a pleasure to work with. We give him the highest recommendation.

Joe Salerno was recommended to us by our contractor. We have a 2,400 sq ft basement that was mostly unfinished. Joe designed the space perfectly including a gym, art room, custom storage area, living area, kitchen with an island, wine room and still enough room for a ping pong / pool table. Joe's advice beforehand, budgeting and execution of the project, and keeping us informed along the way were all outstanding - and we love our basement. We proceeded to have Joe help us design a bar area on our main floor. The quality of the work, the design and the teamwork between Joe, the contractor and the designers made this project very smooth. Both the basement and the bar area were not easy spaces to work with, but Joe's layout and design were excellent - we especially love the leather cabinet doors and the stone front of our bar and all of the custom cabinets in the basement including a sliding partition between two rooms. It is exactly what we wanted. There were no surprises after we agreed on the price of the work. Even after the job was done Joe called us to make sure we were happy with everything and invited us to call him if we had any questions. We highly recommend Joe Salerno.

We were looking for someone to make a bathroom vanity for our bathroom renovation, and we got so much more with Joe Salerno at Ribbon & Reed. Joe designed the perfect bathroom layout for us and was involved in every step of our project. He gave us incredible assistance on the choices we made and also invaluable suggestions, where we were unsure. And on top of everything else, the cabinet quality and design that he gave us is absolutely top drawer! We chose a hickory wood that has such beautiful movement and works perfectly in the space.
