The San Clemente Woodworking team did a phenomenal job on our staircase, railing, & treads. I love the quality of our white oak we chose, and was so glad to use them. They incorporated our choices into the railing, and were so easy to work with. Updating our staircase has modernized our entire home and made it feel more custom! Every person who comes over compliments us on our new stairs and what excellent quality they are. Already giving out referrals!

Real quality craftsmanship. I could not be more pleased with what this company has done for us. The entire process was simple and to the point. At the consultation, I met with Joe who walked us through the process of remaking my two staircases. One staircase is curved and the other just straight. I had older styled stairs with the wooden spindles and built in carpeted runner. I wanted to update them to a contemporary look of wooden treads and simple metal spindles. Joe was informative, gave great suggestions and transparent throughout. When it was time to schedule our start of work, the owner Ed contacted us for final measurements. After speaking to Ed, we really felt like we found a great family owned company that was enthusiastic about what they do. The carpenters, Walter & Edwardo, worked efficiently and it was amazing to see the artistry in their work. The entire process really couldn’t have gone smoother. Joe and Ed were communicative throughout, they kept scheduling clear cut, and with top notch customer service. They are real professionals who are serious about their craft and delivering quality results. Money well spent.

We had a very positive experience with San Clemente Woodworking Company. From the beginning to the end they kept in touch with us. We dealt primarily with Joe (sales), then ultimately with Ed, Hayden and others. They were all very professional and very nice people. They listened to us and gave us exactly what we wanted. We had many discussions and meetings. They were very detail oriented and punctual in reporting to work once the building of the stairs began. They didn’t stop until it was all done. Their stain guy Uriel did a fantastic job too. Our house looks like a different home now with the beautiful stairway in the middle. We love our stairway! We highly recommend this company.

We are very happy with our new railing built by San Clemente Woodworking. The mix of white oak and metal is exactly what we wanted for our coastal contemporary style and really opens up the staircase for those sea breezes. Joe was very knowledgable in the waterfall style I was seeking and Ed was great in fitting us into their schedule earlier than expected. Sawdust tend to get everywhere but Walter installed the railing perfectly and cleaned up pretty well.

My husband and I are beyond thrilled with our recent stairway remodel! The San Clemente Woodworking Stairway crew are true craftsmen! For our initial consultation Joe came prepared with material samples and pictures of completed projects. Joe took measurements, pictures, thoroughly explained what to expect before, during and upon completion of our project. Joe asked us a lot of questions re: our projects vision, needs, wants and overall desired style/look. Who would have known there are so many details and options to consider for a stairway remodel? To ensure we were all on the same page SCWS invited us to come and tour the shop. Hayden and Ed took their time explaining our options and showed us a rendering of our desired new stairway. Initially, we just wanted to update the handrails, balusters and add a carpet runner. After having a better understanding of everything involved and the various options we decided to go with; solid oak handrails/treads and solid wrought iron balusters. The crew showed up on time everyday, completed our project as promised and most importantly they were respectful to our family and home (as we were either working/schooling remotely). We couldn’t be happier with our new stairway. It truly was a great experience working with SCWS I wouldn’t change a thing. Joe, Hayden and Walter at San Clemente Wooodworking SAVED me! I mean it. At the end of a huge remodel and my current carpenter bailed on me (completely blowing my timeline for the sale of the house). These guys stepped up and stepped in and finished up my stairs and gave me a BEAUTIFUL stair railing quickly and affordably. I truly can't thank them enough. I have had a LOT of bad experiences during this big remodel. But, not with these guys/ They are responsive, honest, affordable, and Walter's work was truly that of a craftsman. And, they could have taken advantage of my time predicament - but they didn't. They just tried to help and I ended up with a fabulous product . Thank you! Thank you!

If you are in search of a new railing and stairs, look no further!!! We purchased our home 8 years ago and have done several improvements. This company is by far the most ethical, accommodating, reasonable and talented group we have ever worked with. From start to finish it was a positive experience and we are completely happy with our gorgeous new railing. It is the first thing you see when you walk in the house and it is an enormous improvement from the rickety outdated old iorn railing. Doing construction is a stress but these guys made the entire process not only bearable but enjoyable. From the pricing, design, demo, material, craftsmanship - they are the total package. I am tough to deal with because i expect craftsmenship when i hire contractors. I am almost always disappointed with their performance but not this time. I never write stuff about people good or bad but Ed and nick deserve my thanks and praise for the staircase they built in my home. even my floor guy seemed to marvel at the workmanship and he is a finish carpenter. thanks guys.

I cannot say enough good things about San Clemente Woodworking! This group of gentlemen are true professionals and craftsmen. They take extreme pride in their work and we’re a dream to work with. Joe was responsive from quoting all the way through to completion. Ed and Nick did amazing work, provided solutions for problems and offered suggestions to problems we hadn’t even identified! This job was a complete demo and custom rebuild, and working with them was a truly great experience. They even built a custom dog house under the stairs! I would recommend them to anyone!

San Clemente Woodworking completely transformed my staircase and made it current, taking my 1980s eyesore and overhauling it into something that blended modern (stainless steel) and traditional (posts and railing) elements seamlessly. Their work and craftsmanship was first-rate, and I’m still in awe of the attention to detail and efforts they made to make my small job as important and meaningful as much larger ones they’ve done. Wonderful people and final product who I would absolutely recommend in the future.

All of the individuals I interacted with at San Clemente Woodworking were professional and helpful. They helped us narrow down what we wanted, offered examples of their work, and were flexible about changes. The installation process went very smoothly and the carpenters kept the inevitable mess to a minimum. The final result is a gorgeous new staircase perfectly fitted and suited to our home.

The guys from San Clemente Woodworking did a beautiful job building a railing for our upstairs loft. We knocked out a wall in our new house, not realizing it is hard to find someone to build a railing. San Clemente Woodworking was recommended to us. They came out quickly, gave us a very reasonable estimate, and were able to start work within a few days. They matched the style of the lower existing rail and, following their suggestion, we replaced our bottom post with one that was a little more decorative. What a difference! It really enhanced the look of our existing stairs. We are very happy with the work they did and would definitely recommend them to others.
