We recently move into our new condo and the blinds in it were outdated so we wanted to replace them ASAP and we wanted something that looked super clean and modern to match the design we have in our place. Jasmina helped us pick the best blinds for us and for our budget, great service from buying the blinds to getting them installed, i highly recommend shades of home.

Went to the Oakville location today. Experience was not so good. The specialist came and briefly walked us through the different types of shades, shutter. Then she asked where our house is located and after we told her, she commented that she found people living in that area tend to go for cheaper places. She then emphasized that they have higher price. Made us felt really uncomfortable! Would definitely not go or recommend this place. We asked if there is free consultation and free design like the website advertised and she said no free design, comes with additional cost ..... honestly if you are gonna pick your customers, just specify on your website, such a waste of our time!

We are extremely happy with the selection, purchase experience, installation and follow-up of our vinyl shutters from Shades of Home. Sales staff assisted in our decision making and made a home visit prior to our purchase to ensure that the shutters were exactly what we wanted. The installers pre-booked both measurement and installation dates based on our preferences and were on time, courteous and very professional both times. It took only 3 weeks for the shutters to be built and installed and the workmanship is excellent with all shutters fitting cleanly in our windows. The vinyl shutters are easy to clean and have a nice neat clean look to them. Sales staff also followed up a few weeks after installation to ensure that we were satisfied and that no further work remained. We felt that the price was very reasonable and competitive, with the total $s split over 2 payments. I would have no hesitation recommending Shades of Home for similar purchases.

From start to finish, Marie was excellent. She was considerate, timely with the project and called back always within a short period of time. She came to my house in between decisions to answer questions and go over our decisions if I was second guessing anything. She made changes as well as advising me in areas where I didn't need to spend 'more' money. Once I was ready to place my order, she was also able to throw in a couple of blinds for windows that weren't quoted on (complimentary). Timing was as quoted. I highly recommend Marie and her company!

I was in the market for window coverings for my new custom built home. After calling several companies to come out and give me quotes and ideas, ades of Home (Marie) was the only one that offered to come by the house and walk through and take measurements personally first. The others wanted me to either come by the showroom for to take measurements myself first. As a result I went with Shades of Home for my project. Marie was professional, knowledgeable and provided me with many suggestions. She helped me pick out beautiful fabrics for the bedrooms, media room, office and laundry room, and roman shades for my kitchen. For the family room and other kitchen windows Marie recommended roller shades. For the bathrooms, horizontal sheers were installed for a soft look. Installation was quick and efficient and they came on the scheduled date given. I am pleased with the end result and the service Shades of Home provided. I would recommend them to anyone.

I spent many months, earlier this year, searching for drapery for my new apartment. While I didn't want to re-invent the old pinch pleat drapes my Mom had in the 1980's I really do not like the current style (which seems to be everywhere) of grommet or rod pocket panels. I was determined not to give up and was so happy when I found Shades of Home's website. As soon as I saw their photos of the ripple fold drapes I knew I had to go and see them. Made an appointment and visited their shop on Caledonia Road. Met with Marie and she helped me select the perfect fabric for both my living room and bedroom. Marie also set up a time to meet me so she could take custom measurements. I was impressed because it's an older building an to say that each room had a few irregularities would be an understatement. Marie told me not to worry... and she was right. My drapes were delivered on the date promised and the installers were terrific. I am so glad that I took my time and even happier that I was able to work with Shades of Home. Great service... superb quality... highly recommend.
