We are so impressed with Stanton Homes! We walked into their conference room with a vague idea of what we wanted. Elizabeth Martinez assisted greatly with guiding questions and providing multiple ideas as well as floor samples. To be able to customize a certain floor plan in order to create the perfect modern farmhouse for us was an awesome experience. From the framers to the plumbers and electricians to painters, each trade left their perfect creation on our property. Stanton’s designer, Andrea Enns, exhibited patience and guidance through the entire design selection process. We had many questions, ideas, misconceptions, etc. and she supported us through it all. With any custom build, hiccups happen. Our weather year had back-to-back hurricanes as well as NC shut-the-city-down snow. Spencer Travars, aka Johnny-on-the-spot Project Manager, was our hero. Throughout the build, he explained the what, where and why with anytime we had questions and even when we didn’t have questions. Since our home sold earlier than expected, we had the opportunity to live on our property in a trailer for the last two months of the project. This is where we got to watch the magic happen literally in our own backyard. The finishing team, Darwin, Charlie, Edgar, were extremely thorough and professional. The after move-in experiences with Stanton Homes continue to impress. The 18 month warranty beats out the competition. We were not forgotten after move in. When we had questions, somebody was always there to assist. There may be specific names that I’ve neglected to mention, but they all contributed and we are so grateful!!

My wife and I love our new home built by Stanton Homes. We certainly had our challenges during the build (terrible weather, missing framers, etc...) but the team at Stanton did a great job at adapting and finding solutions. When our project manager left the company mid build, Spencer took over and did a great job getting us to the finish line. Communication is so important to us and Spencer always answered our calls/emails and maintained a positive attitude throughout. Andrea was very helpful with design options (there are so many!). We probably would have made some bad choices had she not been involved. Thank you to Stan, Spencer, and the rest of the team at Stanton!

We are very pleased and satisfied with our Stanton home, and enjoying it very much. From the beginning, Elizabeth found a plan that would work with our budget and the design we wanted. Stan worked with us on customizing the plan to meet our preferences and needs. We had challenges with the lot and septic approval, all of which were overcome. Our project managers, first Phil, then Spencer, were exceptionally easy to work with. They both possess a great deal of knowledge and always knew the answer to a question. Always gracious and professional in answering our seemingly endless questions and concerns. And Andrea understood the style we were looking for and steered us in the right direction with selections. Of course, there are others working behind the scenes, or on the scene as it were, and we appreciate their hard work and effort as well.

We are very happy with the professionalism and skills of Spencer Travars. We needed to have a failed window replaced and Spencer came out to get the specific dimensions. Later, when the window came in, he was back to install it. He took off his shoes to not soil the floor, went immediately to work and explained the process as he went along. As he was leaving, I happened to mention that the front door lock did not seem to catch tightly. He immediately went to his truck, got out the necessary tools and made the adjustments. This took extra time than he planned, but he did it graciously and without complaint. He wanted to make sure I was totally satisfied before he left. Go Spencer!

In my opinion, the way Stanton approaches home construction borders on willful negligence. I can write a review about these guys but it will only get lost in the sea of (strongly suspected) fake reviews these guys have posted/paid for. I would rather meet anyone interested in Stanton Homes for coffee (my treat) to fully convey how terrible these guys treated me and my family from 09/09/2015 to 03/03/2017 and well beyond. When our oldest son decided that he should build a new house, and that we should build beside him, my husband was very excited, but I did not want to move. Finally I was convinced that going back to the country was a great thing, plus our grandsons could walk over anytime. Next we needed to find a builder. We looked at several builders profiles, and decided to contact Stanton Homes. Lara immediately made contact with us, and showed us that a custom home would be totally within our budget. We looked at several designs, and our son choose a farmhouse, but we went with more of a lodge type. We needed the master on the first floor, with a guest suite as well, so with some modifications Stanton worked very closely with us to make our custom home truly what we needed. (Thank you Lara for the encouragement at the beginning of this project). So the build began. My husband was at the site daily. Our first project manager left to start his own company shortly into the project, and Spencer became our new project manager. We could not have asked for more. Nothing was impossible. Any change or correction he made it happen. Some things that he thought could be better he pointed out to us, and things we thought could work better he was on board with. Spencer helped make this home truly ours. He responded in a timely manner to,our endless emails and phone calls. When we panicked about something he put us at ease. He was so easy to work with, and never seemed to get annoyed with all our questions and requests. We had a few mishaps, but all was made right. It is really hard to envision the final outcome, but when the final reveal happened it is so worth the effort. This was not an easy build. Many, many delays. The most rain NC had seen in over a hundred years, two hurricanes, and snow before Christmas. Going into 2019 there was still rain. Mud, mud mud, but rocks were brought in. We had to personally have more trees cut down, and our builder allowed time to get this done, plus we had to get a clearance from the county. Stanton Homes was never pushy about us taking the time to get this done. Always professional, and assuring us that this was a custom home, and we needed to get it like we wanted it. Spencer was just wonderful to work with. Kelly got all our documents, permits, certificates, etc completed in a timely manner, and even went out of her way to come to our home and have some papers signed. We appreciate her keeping us in the know, and staying on top of things, and letting us know about the processes, and the reasons for some of the delays. Our designer Andrea helped us pick out exterior, and interior, paint, stone, granite, cabinets, countertops, tile, and fixtures. If something would not work she gently guided us to options. The finished results are beyond what we imagined. Andrea is a very talented designer, who was easy to work with, and helped us achieve our goals. Stan the owner came to the site often, and made sure the project was going as planned. He also was easy to work with. Although there were some mishaps, corrections were made to our liking, and all turned out well. Nichelle helped with Buildertrend, Very pleasant, and kind, even when We kept changing things. She made sure we received what we requested. A bright spot at the front desk. The entire crew, from the framers, on did a spectacular job. Charlie, and Darwin helped with the finishing touches, and now we have a beautiful home that we intend to live in for the rest of our lives. If zero stars was possible I would give it. Do not have Stanton Homes build you a house. The will lie to you, use poor quality supplies and poor subs. They promise a lot and then do not deliver. I had to take off over two weeks of work to meet them at the site to review errors they made and many of the times the didn't show up. They tell you everything is within standards for a "luxury" home. We are about to pay another company to come paint our interior after Stanton's crews have been to our house 3 times. Still nail pops and their crews got more paint on our floors and furniture than the walls. Sprayed insulation in the wrong walls, forgot to put an arch on front of the house and only offered a credit for one of their mistakes, then since they are buddies with all the subs our well and septic mysteriously ended up cost more to install...roughly the price of the credit. How convenient. I have nothing positive to say about Stanton or the way everything was handled. After the last time they no showed for punchwork the foreman offered us a $100 giftcard and said office will send it. That was 2 months ago and haven't heard from them since. Here is the newest Stanton Issue. Our siding started to fall off our house. Stanton said that is normal...haha! What a joke of a builder. Had a Professional look at it and we were told we will have problems going forward. Yet another reason why NOT to use Stanton.

When we decided to build a custom home, everyone we knew told us that with a certainty, we’d end up hating our builders. With Stanton Homes, however, we found an extension to the family and they built a house in partnership with us. This was our first time building a house (although we’ve renovated) and, with the added complication of being UK ex-pats (all the terminology is different and we needed to translate). Our decision to work with Stanton was almost an impulse. We’d found a plot of land and were considering purchase but had no idea on what it would cost or how complex it would be. A random click through a Facebook ad and we decided to email Stanton. From the moment we got in touch with our sales-person, Elizabeth, we were surprised by the honesty and transparency. Instead of the expected response of “it depends” to the “how much?” question, instead we were quickly given a detailed price based on prior jobs and contracts. At this point we started browsing more floor plans until we found one that would meet our family needs and started customizing. At all points in the process Elizabeth helped us with choices and options as well as with suggested alterations and red-lines to the plans. Before we decided to take the plunge and purchase the land, we asked Stan (the owner and CEO) to work with us to look at the lot and refine the layout of the area. He was very helpful with advice and recommendations on what we could do (and also very reassuring that the lot would work). After that, without much further discussion, we felt we could trust Stanton Homes to build our dream home. We signed the contract in July 2017 and, at the time, with the lot still to purchase, Elizabeth estimated that we’d be finished by August 2018. Shortly after, we completed the lot purchase and we were ready to begin. Once the contract was signed, Kelly, the production manager, came to the fore. Having previously spent significant money with an architect on renovation plans, we were extremely surprised at the value of our package with Stanton. Plan modifications and engineer’s drawings were all included with our deposit (and a fraction of the price we paid for our prior architect!). Kelly was on top of all the permit issues and worked with the County to make sure that everything was submitted in a timely fashion (and that the County was quick and responsive). During our initial sales consultations we were shown the “Builder Trend” Application. Think of it as a “shopping site” where you can build a house. Initially we didn’t realize how important this would be but, as the build progressed, we found that the tool became invaluable. Every bit of contractual detail, option, choice and communication all in one place so that it could be managed and tracked. With the myriad things going on it became essential and Nichelle (project coordinator) was able to schedule and manage all our time commitments so that we were never delayed. Once the permits were completed the build began in earnest at the end of October 2017. During the early weeks we needed to start to finalize many of the selections for the house. Our designer, Andrea, became a great friend as she helped us both design parts of the interior (fireplaces, kitchen vent hood) and also start to work with the suppliers on selections. Andrea listened and helped us to achieve our vision, she gave us reassurance and helped us refine our ideas without pushing any agenda of her own. We did our best to budget the contract to allow for the options and overages (as best we could see) and at all the supplier meetings both Andrea and the other parties were honest and worked to our budget (no up-selling!). We learned a few things (always budget more for lighting and electrical - it’s never enough) but in general for the bathrooms, kitchen, appliances etc. we were very close overall. With a few minor tweaks (downgrade some bits to free up money for others) we were able to navigate through the build trend app so that our final total was within 2% of budget on the contract - something that was much better than expected and certainly so much better than stories we have heard elsewhere. As the build progressed we began to realize the importance of a good project manager. We have to say, that Spencer is the perfect person to build a house for you. Not only knowledgeable but also calm, diligent and takes ownership of a project as if each house is actually his own. His attention to detail saved us on many occasions as he could make recommendations and help us with ideas on what would work or wouldn’t. In particular, with our wooded lot, Spencer was very patient in dealing both with the contractors and also helping arrange everything so that we could deal with clearance, site prep and also the well / septic install. With this being a custom home, he was able to work on our behalf for the custom items that were needed to finish both the interior and exterior. He goes above and beyond to get the best final result - sorry about the sunburn you got Spencer when you were custom cutting the bricks for our fireplace perfectly! Overall, working with Stanton Homes felt like a true partnership - at every step of the process they had OUR best interests in mind and never stopped being accommodating and helpful. Despite the coldest winter (and snows) of recent years and 2 of the wettest months on record in the spring, we managed to hit our target date. Over the last couple of weeks, despite the rain, Darwin, Edgar, Marta, Robbie and Fernando worked to make sure that we hit our date and were able to move in on August 2nd 2018. From start to finish in around 12 months and less than 9 months from when we started clearing the trees (this was a larger build of 4800+ sq ft). We can’t say enough good things about working with the Stanton Homes team and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Everyone who has come into the house has commented on what a well-built and solid house it is. It also has the “wow factor” and has had many compliments. Thank you to all of the team for making our dream home a reality!

Stanton homes is MORE than a business. They are a family and team of excellence that has become a part of OUR family. From the beginning we knew that they were the ones we wanted to work with. Everything about their process was clear, detailed and straightforward. Every member of the team was engaging, professional and top-notch! As we looked for the right floor plan, Elizabeth was patient and innovative as she “erased walls” and moved things around to create the custom home just right for our family, while being sensitive to our budget. She listened and took great care to come up with something that met all of our needs. We felt totally safe about our decisions as other members of the team came on board to help us get started. Andrew met us on site to give input about home placement and assess our lot. Yet another family member on the Stanton Team who let us know that this business was run by family and held accountable on every level. Kelly worked HARD on our behalf throughout our build getting plans and permits passed, and staying on top of the part of financials and operations, a part of the build that never gets the spotlight, but carries the most weight. She was persistent and put our project on high priority, especially when we were in tight moments and needed specific things done quickly. We ALWAYS felt like we were important, on the radar, and at times it even felt like we were the only home they were building they were so attentive! THANK YOU KELLY for all of you hard work behind the scenes! The design process was FUN and STRESS FREE! Andrea was like a dream come true. We felt like we were a couple on HGTV working with the best of the best in the design world. She was attentive to every detail. Thoughtful. She took two completely different style preferences and blended them into a home we are both crazy about! She was honest, and always steered us in the right direction. She thought of the little things and cared about the design of our home like SHE was going to be the one living there. Truly the best! Nichelle was like a steady peaceful friend on the other end of the phone for the last year. Every question, concern, change order, tweak…she was there to adjust and explain everything along the way. She helped us to navigate the helpful website and app that Stanton used to keep us up to date along the way. She is like the thread that weaves all the pieces together and the magic in the background. And don’t even get us STARTED on SPENCER!!! He is now officially a part of our family. If you want a project manager that you can TRUST…Spencer is the one! Building a home is such a huge life moment. And we felt completely safe in his hands every single day. He stayed on top of our process like he was building his own home. He posted updates and pictures for us daily, keeping us in the loop on EVERYTHING that was going on. I actually looked forward to checking the Builder Trend app each morning, knowing I’d be able to see progress and feeling like I was actually on site with them every step of the way. When our timeline started to get tight Spencer kicked into a whole “nuther” gear. I’m not even sure when he slept. He pushed and fought for us on every level, pitching in and doing things himself that went way beyond the call of duty. As we neared the finish line his eye for detail was excellent. He went through our home with a fine toothed comb. He wanted it to be perfect, and he held his team to the highest of standards. We could not have asked for someone more reliable, dependable, or caring to lean on. But my favorite part about working with Spencer is his SMILING FACE and the fact that you can actually feel the JOY in his heart doing something he loves every day... for you. His smile was bigger than ours in some moments – that’s when you KNOW someone cares. His energy and dedication to our home went so far beyond our expectation. It was really more than we imagined. The final days were full of hard working people coming in, touching up, cleaning up, and preparing a special place for us. Edgar, Marta, Robbie, Fernando…thank you for hustling us to the finish line and getting our home ready for us in those final moments! And a huge thank you to Darwin for the giant surprise of our barn doors being ready ahead of time!! We were like kids at Christmas in our final walkthrough because of you! The clean-up and punch list crew makes it all come together in the end! We are so grateful for you guys. This was not our first home, or our first time building. But the QUALITY of this home, the materials, the construction, and the standards this business holds to are completely different than any other experience. People have asked us all throughout this process, “You’re building a home? Oh I know you’re stressed! Building a home is so stressful!” Our answer has been….. actually NOPE!! It was FUN! Did you hear that folks?? BUILDING OUR HOME WITH STANTON WAS STRESS FREE AND FUN!!! There is no better team to work with. This family should be PROUD of the team that represents them. The Stanton team has been safe, reliable, fair, trustworthy, and made this journey for us enjoyable! We absolutely love our new custom home built by Stanton Homes. It all started with Elizabeth Martinez, our pre-contract sales consultant. Elizabeth worked with us during our lot search, as well as our house plan search before we settled on a final plan. She then worked with us on some custom modifications to suit our specific wants and needs. Then we met with Andrea Enns, our interior designer. Andrea was a pleasure to work with and we are so happy she brought her energy and creativity to our home. She took time to understand our intended style and provided many great ideas and suggestions that made it into our home. We are particularly happy with the batt-and-board accent wall she designed for our great room. Kelly McNabb, production manager, ran an effective plan review prior to breaking ground and throughout the project took the time to answer the many questions we had. She was always honest and transparent. All of these ladies were truly wonderful to work with. Now we get to our project manager, Spencer Travars. We cannot say enough great things about Spencer. Spencer truly partnered with us on our build - we felt that he was always focusing on quality and the details. He was very encouraging and solicitous of comments and punch items throughout the build, while keeping us updated on the progress the team was making. This helped us feel confident that at each stage of the build, quality was their focus. During framing he was particularly careful around our fireplace framing, building it up with the in-house crew. He also came out on a Sunday to reinstall some framing support that had fallen and was causing us some concern. Spencer is a great project manager and we are pleased to know he will be looking out for us post-build as well! Thank you again, to the entire team. We wouldn’t have our beautiful new home without you.

My wife and I moved from out of state and did not have the advantage of knowing the market as someone who has been in the area for years. We were impressed with Stanton Homes the moment we reached out to them. Many other builders did not get back to us, or when they did, did not want to assist us apparently because our home was not large enough. (Our home without land was $450,000). Stanton was very helpful from the get go and walked us through the process. Andrea, Stanton Home's designer, was tremendously helpful in picking out materials and fixtures. They even helped us find a great lot on which to build. I feel we were also very lucky to have Phil Travars as our project manager. He was always very helpful and kept us abreast of how things were going throughout the build. Phil was most impressive with his speed to which he got back to us when we had a question. You can tell he is well respected by his crews which also says a lot. As with any build, there were minor issues along the way, but all were handled professionally and in the end we have a beautiful, well built home. Stanton Homes also has an 18 month warranty which also gives us peace of mind now that we are moving in. We are very pleased we found and chose to build with Stanton Homes and would recommend them to anyone.

My husband and I knew that we wanted to build a home that was uniquely ours and found Stanton through extensive research of local custom builders. After meeting with Stan and his team on multiple occasions and visiting one of their spec homes, we knew that they were the perfect match to build our custom home. From the moment we signed the contract up through the final walk-through and post-move in, the team went above and beyond to make our dream home a reality and the process along the way as smooth as possible. Having witnessed every stage of the construction and living in the house for some weeks now, we can attest that the quality of our home is absolutely stellar. Many colleagues and friends of ours complain about their builders using second-grade materials or taking shortcuts at every possible turn, but this was certainly not the case for our home. Stanton delivered high quality in every aspect of the construction of our home and continues to impress us with the quality of their post-move in service. For us, this began with our initial contact with Elizabeth who helped us find the right floor plan for our needs. Our project manager, Phil, was absolutely outstanding. He has a keen eye for detail and communicated quickly and efficiently on all matters no matter how big or small. He even went as far as to find specialty bulbs for one of our lighting fixtures after we made a comment in passing that he happened to hear. Andrea, the design consultant, was absolutely critical to helping us realize our vision. No matter how long it took, or how vague our initial thoughts, Andrea always impressed us with her ability to materialize our ideas while incorporating practical design elements. She went out of her way to brainstorm creative ideas that worked within our budget and ultimately, we came to trust her judgment implicitly. Kelly was wonderful to work with and helped simplify the complex and tedious details involved in such a complicated project, making the whole process as seamless as possible for us. The owner, Stan, was very hands-on throughout the process. He met us at several lots to determine which would be the best for our home and budget, was able to redesign our floor plan and elevation multiple times in order to realize our vision perfectly, and even showed up during the final walk-through to ensure we were completely satisfied. Lastly, we must say that EVERY individual we encountered at Stanton was not only exceptionally friendly and professional but also had only the most positive things to say about working directly for or as a subcontractor for Stanton Homes. My husband spent many weekends at the property preparing the yard and got to know some of the contractors and was very impressed with both them and their attitude towards their employer. The team at Stanton is a fundamental aspect of what differentiates them from other builders and for us, a pivotal reason why we would recommend them to anyone else. Finally, the most important aspect of a custom home is whether or not it met our expectations. We can say without a doubt, that the home built by Stanton has not only met but vastly exceeded our dreams. The exquisite craftsmanship, premium features, and overall look and feel of the home have created a final product with which we could not be happier.
