Teak Master

I was very pleased with my experience working with Teak Master. My deck had sun and water damage, so I hired them to restore it. They sanded it down, did some wood treatment, and refinished the deck. They did a great job and I would absolutely recommend them!

Our two story redwood deck was in desperate need of a repaint. My father-in-law, wife, and I threw around the idea of doing it ourselves, however, the undertaking was very overwhelming and after reviewing some online tutorials and videos, we knew hiring a professional was the way to go. We received several replies and had three estimates in total. The first to reply was Tim from Teak Master. It was only after the in-person estimate that I discovered he was also the owner. Really a testament to the company’s commitment to quality when the owner is involved to the level Tim was. Tim projected the job to take 2 days. I was a bit skeptical of this as the other two companies quoted a 3-10 day time frame. Did a bit more online research on the whole process and emailed Tim some questions. He answered every question and even detailed what they do step-by-step. Their approach was far more labor intensive and specific to deck restoration. Teak Master was not only competitive in pricing, they were right there with the lowest. Also, while everyone else was a handyman or general contractor, Teak Master, was the only deck specialist of the bunch. Don’t know of any others in the So Cal area. All of these factors ultimately led us to choose Teak Master for the job. There is ZERO doubt that we made the right decision! If you are reading this and are in a similar situation as we were, no need to look beyond Teak Master. We did a ton of research and leg work and you will not be disappointed. Our appointment was scheduled a week from the initial contact. Ernie and crew were punctual, professional, courteous, and did an incredible job. They were so detailed and efficient both days. Clean up was also fantastic and my wife and I witnessed them going above and beyond in cleaning surrounding areas as well. They didn’t have to, but they did and not sure if they even know we saw them till this day. It was, however, a defining "wow!" moment for us and only validated our choice of Teak Master. Every member of that company is committed to doing the best work and it shows from top down. It’s been two weeks since our deck has been completed and I find myself still admiring the work. My family has spent more time out on the deck these past two weeks than we have in the last 2 years! It completely transformed the look for our home and has been good for our souls as well. My designer and I found Teak Master by accident looking for ideas on how to restore and change the color of our redwood deck. We stumbled upon a few posted photos and wanted to change our color to match a photos from a Malibu deck. Our deck is only 2 years is and had never been properly protected from the outset. The guys came out and were very efficient. Day one was cleaning. Day 2 was sanding and bleaching. Day 3 consisted of crew leader, Ernie, applying various tinted sealer choices on our wood to see what color we liked best. We zeroed in on a color and couldn't be more pleased. It's exactly what we wanted. Ernie even set us up on a maintenance schedule to keep it looking fab. Amazing service, amazing results, amazing crew!

I found Teak Master looking for ideas on how to enhance the natural color of our Ipe wood deck. I had played around with the thought of stripping the shinny varnish coating our contractor had applied and allow it to weather naturally on its own. But after viewing the before and after photos of wood decks on the Teak Master website, I knew allowing the wood to weather wasn't an option. I walked through each option with Tim and Raul and came to the conclusion that a tinted oil seal would work best with the recent stone landscape upgrades we had just finished. The guys came in a washed the deck clean the first day. I was impressed on how meticulous they were in covering the windows and areas around the washing (me being a neat freak I was so appreciative of this) The next day the crew came in and deep sanded the wood smooth. The sanding made the wood look brand new, it was pretty amazing to watch! After viewing various color tints, I decided on a recommendation from Raul on a "warm honey tone." I appreciate how patient Raul was on showing us a multitude of colors to get exactly what we wanted. I know it is difficult to change the natural color of Ipe wood, but they were able to do it. The guys hand brushed the sealer on and we couldn't be happier. Our deck looks amazing!!! Compliments and highly recommended.
