Doug and his crew completely redesigned and rebuilt the second story of our home, all while we still lived in the house. From the initial collaborative conversations to come up with what would be the final design, the management and coordination of the project and the various subcontractors, to the finished product, we were extremely impressed with Turner Troxell and really glad we chose them. There was excellent communication each step of the way, Leslie and Mike were both a total pleasure to work with and it's apparent they really care about your project. All the crews were respectful of our home (and the fact that we were still living in the house while the entire second story was removed), they never missed a day on site, and the job was finished about two weeks ahead of schedule and within the original budget that had been discussed. Considering the scope of the project, the process was extremely smooth, and any time we hit a small bump in the road they worked hard to quickly resolve it. The quality of work was outstanding and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. Turner Troxell are total pros and are excellent to work with from beginning to end, we highly recommend them.

We cannot say enough good things about this company. When we moved from PA to MD to be closer to our grandchildren, Turner Troxell came highly recommended to us by our daughter, whose own house addition we greatly admired. So we were thrilled they could get us on their schedule to do major renovations on our recently-purchased, 80-year-old house. From the outset, Doug Turner was enjoyable to work with. Ideas spin beautifully and naturally out of his mind, and he seemed to genuinely enjoy helping us figure out how to make creative and best use of our space. Moreover, he seemed to genuinely enjoy us, too, which made our transition to an unfamiliar area all the more comforting. He runs the company with as much integrity as you could possibly want. He was very detailed in putting together the initial drawings and scope of work, and then meticulous in carrying it out. The crew started and completed our project exactly when he said they would, even when we needed a payment extension because a loan application snagged in the system. He advised us early on to get windows, cabinets and appliances ordered because of pandemic-related supply chain issues, and assigned a sharp, creative and affable project manager to our job, who managed quality crews and was a perfectionist in making sure everything was done exactly right. In addition, the woman who helped us with design, and who kept detailed track of ordering, was a delight to work with. There are always unforeseen things with old houses, and whenever we had the slightest issue with anything, they addressed it quickly and remedied the problem. This past weekend a friend from PA came to stay for the weekend, and she remarked over and over again what a beautiful space we have. "Whoever did your construction did absolutely quality work!" she exclaimed to us at breakfast one morning. "There is nothing chintzy about this renovation." And indeed there isn't. Turner Troxell is a GREAT company, and you can trust them through and through to deliver on whatever project you're dreaming of. They were most knowledgeable, thorough, accommodating, efficient, and just great people to work with. They delivered a top quality project to us. We have confidence you will experience the same.

We had an extensive remodeling of our first floor, adding a multipurpose room, a half bath, and extending and remodeling our kitchen. It began with in depth conversations with Doug Turner regarding our initial desires and vision. He worked hard to get clarity, and offered his professional opinion every time it would strongly affect outcomes, plus or minus. This inside into design helped us again and again to have a much better result than our first ideas. He took our budget seriously. Communication was excellent, from start to finish. We knew what was happening, what was planned and when, and what it was all costing us with every change. The crews were professional, polite, and efficient. The materials and quality of work was superb. A shout-out needs to go to the team leader, Steve, who was friendly, polite, skillful, and calm, in the midst of the chaos! Follow-up, to clean-up final aspects of the job, was detailed. We have used Turner Troxell twice remodeling our home, and have had a great result and experience each time.

We are so happy with how our fireplace and built in shelving/cabinet renovation turned out! Doug was extremely professional, easy to work with and helped us bring our vision to life by providing great recommendations. The work is flawless and the built ins were exactly what we had envisioned. The crew was excellent and very nice to work with. Doug and his team were easy to deal with, detail oriented, responsive, and just plain nice. Front and side porches exceeded expectations and overacheived on the wow factor. Great outdoor design for patio including grilling carve out - practical and polished. Siding, roofing and window teams were amazing and worked quickly and effectively. Doug is creative and has great ideas, confidence, relationships and people. Job well done!

We had a few friends who had used Turner Troxell for their home renovations, so we had seen the high quality of their work, but when we began to work with their team and experience their thoughtful approach to our project we were even more impressed. They brought such creative ideas to the table to add to and improve our initial design direction. We wanted to open up the walls our 1950’s house and create a warm welcoming space with a large island and lots of windows, that could handle large gatherings and still feel intimate and cozy for our family. They were flexible to make adjustments to changes we wanted to make along the way, had excellent suppliers for cabinetry, tile, countertops and bath fixtures that helped us feel confident about making those selections, and had a great group of trades people working with them who together couldn’t have been more respectful of our home while they did their work. And they were there every day, yes, every day from start to finish. Their foreman Jim was amazing. When we look back on things, it turned out better than we could ever have imagined and there’s very little we would change if we were to do it again – it just couldn’t have been a better experience overall. We would certainly recommend Doug’s team to anyone who wants things to be done right!

Doug and his team are fantastic! Their attention to detail is amazing. We were extremely pleased with our renovation and addition. Doug's ideas of how to maximize our space without changing our footprint was impressive. His operations and day to day team were thoughtful, excellent communicators and personable. We enjoyed interacting with everyone, and had complete trust with their ability to stay on point with the time table to complete the project.

We have been beyond pleased with Turner Troxell starting with our initial meeting all the way through the construction. From the outset we were listened to; our needs & wishes were reflected in the construction plan. The outcome exceeded our expectations – we now love our 1960’s rancher home as it feels new, fresh & much safer. The teams skill with design, tiling & carpentry was truly appreciated. They always arrived on time, kept lunch breaks to 30 minutes & ended on time. Their experience & skill were invaluable. They were quiet, worked well together, worked diligently all day & cleaned up afterwards every day. Each member of their team was a delight to work with - always treating our home like it was theirs. It was apparent that they consistently used the same subs & they were all familiar with one another. The success of our renovation was truly a team effort. It is rare that our high standards are exceeded. We will plan on using Turner Troxell in the future for all of our home construction & renovation n the needs.

I am so happy we chose Turner Troxell to do our Kitchen project. Doug Turner submitted a very detailed plan after talking with me about what I wanted. He had a vision that included a few small changes that made the kitchen amazing! It was very important to him that we would have a kitchen we loved! It was obvious throughout the project that he and his team had integrity and were very professional. Melissa, the project coordinator, was very organized, detail-oriented, and helpful. She was available to answer questions and give suggestions when I asked. She kept me informed of the daily schedule. Steve, who was there every day, was a pleasure to have working on the project. He was respectful, trustworthy, conscientious, and hardworking. He left the area clean and orderly every day. The project was finished on time and on budget! We are enjoying our beautiful kitchen! We will definitely have them do future projects.

We can't recommend Doug Turner and the rest of the Turner Troxell team enough. From the design phase of our kitchen renovation and putting together the scope of work, to finishing up the project on time and meeting our expectations, no detail was left unaddressed. The work crews were professional and considerate of our space and left everything clean and orderly at the end of the day. They never missed a day of work, and finished exactly when they said they would. Melissa's project coordination was excellent, and she was always willing to meet at our convenience and adjust to our work schedules. Josh in particular was great, his work was excellent quality and he really cared about getting things right. They were also very flexible, accommodating and creative in response to our needs and opinions, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the final product. So happy with our kitchen and with the Turner Troxell experience overall!

We have had Doug Turner and his team complete three projects of different scope and size in the past 6 years. The first job was a major kitchen/dining room renovation, the next two projects involved installing recessed lighting, crown molding, refinishing hardwood floors or installing hardwood floors and painting. My wife and I didn't even seek competing bids for the second and third projects. Turner-Troxell does a terrific job from the design planning stages to the finish work. They were very creative in the way that they addressed and solved several design challenges with the kitchen project. Its team and subs are professional, pleasant, friendly and trustworthy as well as being considerate to those of us living in the house during the project. Their projects for us have always been finished on time or ahead of schedule and on or under budget. Turner-Troxell's workmanship is superb and they have great attention to detail. The communication through their project coordinator (Melissa) was a great help. The last project was finished three weeks ago and we couldn't be more pleased. There are one or two additional projects on our horizon..., I anticipate that Doug and his associates will be back in our house working on another project within two more years.

We’d been wanting to gut and completely renovate our kitchen and the adjoining space for years. So we talked with several contractors, one of which we had worked with successfully years before. Out of the three we talked to, Doug was the only one who was willing to put energy and effort into helping us figure out exactly what we wanted to do. He was great and really helped us think through things thoroughly, considering various design options, pushing several creative ideas just the right amount, but not too much. And we LOVE the end result. The Turner Troxell team was excellent. Excellent to work with, excellent listeners & problem solvers, and excellent in their craftsmanship. When there was a problem they addressed it, and when we wanted something to be done a little bit differently, they did it. It’s hard to know every little detail you want at the outset, and they were flexible to let us make changes as we went along. We loved that. When you’re having extensive work done on your home, you want to have people you know and feel you can trust – these are the people. They took care of our home as if it was theirs. And they respected our need to keep going on with our lives in the midst of a construction zone. I’d highly recommend Turner Troxell to others and would certainly hire them again.
