We hired Bob to renovate our 1850s farmhouse. He did a great job respecting the bones of the house while modernizing it to our family’s needs and taste. Bob and his team showed up every day on time and ready to work. They completed the project on schedule (unheard of in the world of construction). His years of experience meant he thought of everything, down to the details, which was especially helpful for us inexperienced renovators. When unexpected issues arose with our house, he was able to come up with solutions with great end results.

Bob was a breath of fresh air. He came to our house looked at the job and we told him what we could afford. He made it work! He was super resourceful with his materials and laid it all out so there were no secrets or hidden costs. He always Showed up when he said he would and the finished product was even better than we even imagined. At the end of the day the site was always tidy and clean. I can’t express enough how amazing he and his crew were. Normally when you do a big Reno you can’t wait to have the builders out and your house back to normal but with Bob he almost felt like family. And I’d be lying if I said we didn’t miss him once they completed the job!

Bob has done all the restoration work on our 1812 colonial house. He has done mutiple jobs for us over the past 15 years. From the original gut and replace almost everything, to a beautiful over the garage apartment renovation with a full shed dormer. He has akso done major renovations on our barns. We have depended on him to get the job done with minimal disruption to our life. My only complaint is that his very busy and it takes a while for him to fit us in his schedule. It is well worth the wait. Master bathroom next , and then we are done ???

We hired Vail General Contracting Inc to redo our kitchen and add an addition - a mudroom. We had a great experience with Bob and the crew from Vail General Contracting. They were skilled at working within the boundaries of the building... which was a challenge! They offered suggestions and creative solutions often helping to draw our ideas and talk through problems and solutions. Through it all they always listened to our requests and needs. The years of experience show in the beautiful carpentry and work they produce. They were very mindful of our budget and were so efficient that they were able to do some work on our garage as well, yet still stay within our budget! It was a pleasure to have them around and be a part of our family for a while! We would highly recommend Vail General Contracting.

Bob Vail is a master Craftsman and his crew is just as exacting and demanding as he is. Our project involved pushing out our kitchen foundation 6ft and rearranging the rooms on the first floor to meet an expanded and updated kitchen. Walls were torn down and new walls were put in place, new windows and doors and a new outside deck also were part of a project that included an entire renovation of a tired old kitchen. Bob consulted and worked with us alongside an architect, kitchen expert and electrician in order to help us select exactly what we wanted, at times he would advocate for us when we met with some unprofessional incidents. Most importantly, Bob was able to flex with some changing demands during the project while still maintaining the integrity of the original plan. Superior finish carpentry highlights surround the new project and bring continued enjoyment as we use our new kitchen and entertain more often than ever before.
