Völundr, Architectural Ironwork

As a fellow contractor, I recently had the pleasure of working with Dan Bowers of Volundr Architectural Blacksmithing, on a high end residential remodel. The project demanded excellent execution towards an addition to an historic spiral staircase, in a more recently built French Villa. The original staircase dated back to 17th century France, was disassembled and brought to the U.S. to be added to this custom home. It required the manufacturing of additional stairs and railings and had to identically match the historic 17th century design. As head of this project, Dan oversaw and facilitated the complete fabrication and construction of the addition to meet the satisfaction of the General Contractor -and a very critical client. Dan Bowers is a rare man who understands the value of each step towards a goal. Building the spiral staircase from scratch required a great deal of historic research, follow-through and consistent quality in materials, management and construction. If corners are cut, the end result suffers more with each following step. However, people like Dan consider details to be as crucial to the project as its outcome. Through his dedication to the job down to the exact detail, Dan demonstrated that the drive behind his company, his work ethics, and his extensive experience is to ensure that the client will be ecstatic with the results. Dan’s hands-on approach to managing a project is the prime example of his expansive skills. I used these guys to create a metal christian fish for our home at the beach. I sent them a picture of what I wanted and they were very quick to get a quote back to me. The price was reasonable and the final product was amazing. It was way better than what I expected and I have received many inquiries and compliments about the piece. I would definitely recommend these guys and hope to use them soon for another project
