If you would like to do all of the quality control while paying top dollar, Story Renovations is for you. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Not only is their work lazy and sub par, it became flat out dangerous. Also, don't expect to finish anywhere near when they say it will. We were told 10-12 weeks. So we booked a rental for 13 weeks, just in case. After 15 weeks we were able to move in. It would be another couple of months until most items were done. In fact, almost a year after the start date, we are still dealing with fixing some of their awful work. Starting with the most dangerous part of the project which could have killed our entire family (2 kids, 2 dogs, my wife and myself). As you'll see in the pictures, their plumber cut the exhaust pipe from our furnace to accomodate a drain pipe from a toilet. They never bothered to re-connect it. Months later, we discovered it (luckily before the furnace had to run). I was told by the president of the company "Chris! That's why you have a Carbon Dioxide detector". It is obviously a Carbon MONOXIDE detector and yes, that would've been great if your electrician hadn't disconnected it for whatever reason. I know most people probably won't read a big description of how bad this company is, so I will just leave bullet points and pictures so you can see the quality work you can expect from this company. - They tried to hide a hole on the side of our house with a junction box. I have a video of their "warranty guy" talking with the electrician about me "finding it" and "being pissed off", so they would have to fix it. Happy to share that video with anyone considering Story so you can see who you're working with. -All three exhaust pipes in the attic were never attached to the roof vents. I had to climb in the attic to find that. I'm guessing most people don't do that. -Flooring was poor at best, including where they patched an old air return using particle board and leaving big gaps where sub floor should be. -Doors and windows were left wide open at times after the work day. Sometimes the key still left in the door. We had to come back to the house daily just to lock up our own house properly. -Electrician screwed up existing wiring to a patio flood light, so instead of fixing it, he installed a light switch for an outdoor light in the middle of our master bedroom wall. -Electrician also didn't attach ground wires on multiple switches and outlets. -Transitions from wood to tile look DIY at best -Cleanup was terrible. Screws, nails, debris found throughout the house and more importantly in the driveway. I could write this list for another hour, but I'm not sure what good it would do. I really just don't want anyone else to have to experience this. I'm happy to talk with anyone considering this company to do your work. Feel free to reach out. We honestly still don't feel completely safe in our own house, because who knows what other trash work we will find.

We finished an addition and renovation project with Story and couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Ian and the design team were so great to work with in the planning stage - they listened to us about what we wanted and what we didn’t, gave us thoughtful options for everything, and worked with us when we changed our minds or had questions. Matt was phenomenal during the construction phase - he was at the house regularly, always stayed in touch with updates, and anytime he was going to be gone he made sure we had a contact person we could get ahold of if needed. The cost estimate was spot on with no surprises which was absolutely huge for a project like ours. We are so happy in our “new” home and wouldn’t have done anything differently, particularly our choice to go with Story. 10/10 would recommend!

We have loved working with Story Renovations! They have been friendly, professional, prompt and easy to work with. Story has a well-rounded team of specialists and each person we came in contact with was great to work with. The job site was kept clean and the construction was completed on time. I would highly recommend Story Renovations and we can’t wait to have them back to work in another area of our home.

I would highly recommend Story Renovations to anyone doing a home renovation. Whether it's a smaller project or a larger one, Story Renovations treats each project with equal importance and delivers a high quality product. Story did an outdoor living space for us and couldn't have been easier or more professional to work with. Everyone on their team is very responsive and made sure to keep us in the loop during the process. They created a beautiful design that fit well with our existing outdoor space and even assisted in furniture, lighting, etc. selections. Equally important, they stayed within the original budget and we were never blindsided with additional expenses. I would certainly use Story Renovations again for any future home renovations.

The whole SR team was great to work with! We had a pretty large project that involved several rooms on all 3 floors of the house. Rachel and Laurie designed such beautiful spaces for us and were so thoughtful with all of the details. Ian, Ryan and all of our contractors were great as well and helped us navigate through any problems that popped up. We couldn't be happier with our home!

We have a wonderful 1950s custom ranch home. We have lived in our home for over 30 years and this time decided to really do it all- down to the studs, all new bathrooms and kitchen! The craftsman ship and attention to detail have been outstanding. Every trade that worked on our home was a true professional. Additionally, Story Renovations has been absolutely outstanding with follow-ups to the items that needed attention following our move in. We couldn't be happier with our "new" home! My husband and I were just commenting the other night how pleased we are and we are so glad we chose Story Renovations.
