I had been admiring Emily’s work via social media and reached out when I needed design help with our cabin in northern MN. Emily had great suggestions and was very knowledgeable, and well connected to resources and artisans. It was important that the cabin felt curated, I had custom ideas in my head and Emily connected me with people who could create what I was envisioning. She was also very positive and gave me confidence in the direction things were going. There were ideas I knew I wanted, but certain decisions I was uncertain about, and she helped me pull everything together. Emily was excited about the project and her enthusiasm was a big boost at a time when I needed it most. Emily was very professional, communicated well in a timely manner and was a true pleasure to work with. Thanks again Emily!

It has been such a joy to work with Emily and see my home transform thanks to her guidance. This was my first time working with it a designer and Emily was very patient and encouraging. She has been really honest and communicative through the process and although this was a “small” project for her, she treated it with such thoughtfulness and care. My home already feels so much more like me and having her guidance has allowed me to create a space I really love. I can’t stop looking at the wallpaper we picked out! Overall, Emily and Carlos were so fun to work with and inspired me to think differently about my space and what is “allowed”.

We had wonderful experience working with our designers at EPDS on our kitchen and main floor renovation. They helped us see the beauty and charm in our 1970s home and guided us in creating a space that feels high-end while still blending seamlessly with the original character of the house. Their eye for layout, finishes, and overall cohesion was invaluable. They were incredibly supportive as we navigated big, sometimes overwhelming decisions, and when unexpected issues came up during construction (like materials suddenly becoming unavailable) they helped us pivot with confidence. Throughout the process, they were warm, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with. They have impeccable taste, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

I want to start by saying I rarely write bad reviews. I hired EPD back in December 2024 to design my kitchen and bathroom remotely. I honestly felt like the process was rushed with the two revisions allowed and the mostly email communication. I understand that the rendering phase has to have a hard stop somewhere, but the reminders of my time almost being up, along with mostly trying to convey thoughts over email, didn't feel accommodating. After I received the final package, I knew I had to change something, so I reached out to a local designer to help. The local designer was able to come over and tweak a lot of things in the plans that didn't feel very functional. She brought the hood vent out larger, bordering the hood on the inside with tile like I originally wanted, moving drawers to spaces where they won't be in the way of open appliances, etc. I received much more thorough advice that I think will positively affect the space, especially in regard to functionality. The reason I didn't bring up these things to EPD is because I am not a professional designer, and wouldn't have realized these items we're in need of revision unless the second designer came in. I had an hour long phone conversation with Emily explaining that since I hired a different designer and would no longer be taking up their time. Due to this, I asked for a small refund. Anything. If I had still been their client, I would have been taking up hours of their time a week due to the organic nature and timeline of construction/remodeling. Emily absolutely refused. I have attached a photo of their rendering. If I would have moved forward with their deign specs, I would have a hood that was so unbelievably tight and impractical. I didn't want to write this review but I feel a small refund was appropriate, and I instead was told that they "wish they could help".

It was an absolute joy working with Emily, Elena, and the rest of EPDS. We went with the less hands on, design only option where she designed and we executed. Despite that, she was so hands on and collaborative, even when some of our choices did not match my budget and we had to pivot. She had an amazing eye to lean into the houses natural character and charm while modernizing and making the kitchen more livable. The final design looked like it had always been apart of the house. Overall, her creativity, expertise, and collaboration were amazing. I can't believe the house turned out so luxury, cozy, and warm. It was absolutely a dream kitchen. I will 100% be working with her again and have recommended her to many friends. I view her both as an amazing resource, but also as a friend now! We had such a wonderful experience working with Emily, Elena, and the rest of the team at Emily Pueringer Design Studio! I actually discovered EPDS's work on Houzz and Pinterest and reached out on a whim -- we live on the other side of the country and I had no idea whether they would even consider taking on a remote project. I'm so glad I took the chance! We were able to work out a contract with EPDS that included their team collaborating directly with our contractor and vendors, sending samples to us via mail, and meeting several times virtually to discuss plans and ideas. Additionally, the team was consistently available via email, always providing quick and thorough responses. All of their deliverables were on time, detailed, and reflective of our conversations. They brought a wealth of beautiful ideas and expertise to the table that we never could have conceived of on our own, but they were also open to our feedback and ideas throughout the process as well. Finally, they are just really kind, fun people to work with! Overall, the level of expertise, creativity, and professionalism we experienced with EPDS was incredible, and I feel so grateful and relieved to have worked with Emily, Elena, and the team on a project that is so important to us. Thank you, EPDS, for helping us create a unique, beautiful, and intentionally designed home that we will absolutely cherish forever!

With many years in the design/ building industry, Emily played an integral roll in the success of our extensive kitchen and main floor remodel. My husband and I worked with Emily on our primary bath as well as a guest bathroom remodel. Emily is lovely to work with, she is extremely knowledgeable of her craft and did an incredible job of working with us to understand our needs and preferences, while staying true to her aesthetic and overall vision. Emily was a massive support to us - she always made herself available and guided us through the many decisions we had to make throughout this process. The end result is truly stunning - every day we are so appreciative of the overall look, feel, and finishings.

We feel lucky to have been able to work with Emily Pueringer Design for a kitchen and family room renovation in our 1970s house. We intend for this to be our forever house, and wanted a timeless look with a floor plan that prioritizes function. While it must be easier to work with more hands-off clients, my wife and I are both very opinionated and involved ourselves in the details. Emily handled this with grace, incorporating our vision even when we weren’t good at articulating it. It was easy to trust Emily’s taste and design choices. She adapted to our varying budget for different aspects of the project with great solutions. We especially appreciate Emily’s attention to detail in craftsmanship, for example talking the tiler through mitering the edge pieces, as well as offering to have difficult conversations with a subcontractor when quality wasn’t up to her standard. This all resulted in a finished space that we love both in use and aesthetic. We are still in awe every time we come home and will continue to be for years to come. We worked with Emily on a kitchen remodel for our 1914 home. We asked her to design a kitchen that flowed seamlessly with the rest of our old home and that worked within the footprint of the existing kitchen (not easy with its square footage, L-shape, 3 doorways and a stairway). We also asked for a practical, warm space, inspired by natural elements and that incorporated texture and playful color. On top of that, we love to cook and bake and wanted a very functional kitchen, both with more counterspace and an orientation that would allow socializing in a light-filled environment that is connected to our back patio/yard space. Emily definitely delivered! We trusted her design and ran with it. She was a great partner to work with throughout the design and build process. Emily was a great help in making selections, finding alternatives and adapting during the build. She also made sure that all of the finishing touches were completed just right. She is great to work with and is very responsive. We appreciated her flexibility throughout the process. We are young professionals and this was our first major home remodeling project on our first home; finding a designer we trusted with the process was daunting. We are so happy we found Emily. We highly recommend!

After first discovering Emily on Houzz, I recently had the opportunity to work with Emily on the design of our home. We hired her at the beginning stages of the home build, even before we had chosen an architect! I can't say enough good things about working with Emily and her team. She was so easy to work with and thanks to her, the home building process has been as smooth as I can imagine. I don't have to worry about little details that would overwhelm and make the process a chore. Emily also took into consideration our budget and preferred design styles. I really feel like she nailed it on all accounts! She also wasn't afraid to advocate for us to the architect or the builder if she felt like they were not capturing what we wanted or envisioned for our home. If you have the opportunity to work with Emily I would jump at the chance!

We couldn't be more pleased with our kitchen remodel! Emily did an amazing job choosing the materials for the project. She seemed to have an intuitive sense for what we would like and what colors and textures would fit into the style of our 1970's home. Having Emily give recommendations for the materials (flooring, countertop, cabinets, sink, paint, lighting, etc) took a load of my mind, and gave me the confidence I needed to move forward, knowing it would all look fantastic together! When we ran into a snag installing the tile backsplash, Emily was on the spot ready to refer us to an expert tile guy who did a beautiful job on the intricate herring-bone tile. I also appreciated her availability and quick responses to my emails and questions as we completed our project. It's so much fun having a fully functioning kitchen again, and one that is beautiful, modern and lovely to entertain friends and family. Thank you Emily!
