Emily was an absolute delight to work with and I would recommend RIAD Studio to anyone, especially folks who are renovating older homes or building new. She understood our vision and was able to help us connect our vague and uninformed ideas with real solutions and choices that serve us well to this day. She was solidly grounded in and always mindful of our practical needs (including our budget!), and patiently and diligently worked through some real challenges with the house and the marketplace conditions (we remodeled in 2021 and had to get creative about sourcing a lot of things). Visitors to our 1910 home are amazed at how seamlessly our addition and our remodeled kitchen, basement, and baths fit beautifully with the style, scale, and vibes of the house, both inside and out, while serving us extremely well as a busy family of 5. Emily worked with our contractors expertly, and together they reused materials where possible, economized where it made sense, and helped us see where to invest (the answer: windows and doors). People always ask us what we'd change if we had the project to do over again, and we honestly can't think of anything -- so many details are just right, surfaces meet our needs and suit our style, hold up to constant use, and are so timeless that we know we'll want to live with them forever. One friend said of our kitchen (pictured in the designer's photos here), "This is my favorite room I've ever been in," and we feel the same!
