Wendy is the absolute best at what she does. Over the course of 8 years I have done multiple major remodels with her, including a total kitchen overhaul, primary bathroom overhaul, laundry room, a powder room, mudroom, and kids and guest bathroom. Every single project has turned out even better than we dreamed. Wendy does an excellent job of honing our vision, holds our hand through design selection to make everything cohesive, and works with the multitude of trades needed to complete the projects. Excellent communication and professionalism, and she is one of the kindest people I've ever met. I cannot recommend Wendy enough, she's incredible.

We recently moved into a new, larger home in need of a LOT of work. And, we were moving in from out of town. Wendy was our decorator and she was absolutely terrific! Wendy has fantastic contractors. Even though we've moved in we continue to use them. She spent hours and hours with us on big and small things- painting, floor refinishing, carpet selection and installation, lighting, etc. She. helped us figure out how to use our existing furniture and what to add. Wendy did a super job of getting to know our taste and helping to make our house a home that we truly love. She worked with the different views the two of us had and our desire to have quality products but not spend exorbitant amounts of money. She is ALWAYS positive, reliable and helpful. She even worked with me on selecting small objects and cushions to finish our rooms. And, she helped lay things out in a way that works and is beautiful including smaller things such as arranging our shelves. I can't say enough positive about Wendy. We loved working with her- it was really fun and our new home is truly gorgeous!

She listens to my interests and is timely in making suggestions that fit my style and budget, and even has stretched and challenged me with suggestions I would normally not consider--and have been delighted with all her selections! I have worked with Wendy over 12 years. Originally, we hired her to upgrade our living and family rooms with custom rugs and recovering some furniture pieces. That progressed to custom linens in my daughter’s room (that still adorn her room in our new house 10 years later). The finale was a complete remodel of our fairly dated kitchen to include new cabinetry, appliances, and tile work. The finished kitchen was deemed magazine-worthy and has been a showpiece in the successful sale of our family home twice since we owned it. Moving to a new home in Manitou Springs in 2017, that begged for a contemporary flair, Wendy designed the layout of our living room, outdoor deck, and completely remodeled our guest bath downstairs. She seamlessly moved from one design preference to another and customized our home décor accordingly. Over the years, Wendy has become “my go to” professional for all my design upgrades for every indoor and outdoor space.

My wife and I bought a home for our retirement in Colorado Springs that required a near tear-down to restore it properly. We had renovated our current home in Chicago so I felt familiar with the process and pitfalls. Early in this new project, I worked only with my contractor on the overall design, kitchen layouts, etc, thinking we could handle the renovation, but quickly realized we needed a professional interior/exterior designer to help with the hundreds of decisions before us. Since we lived in Chicago during the 1.5 year renovation, having someone who we could trust, communicate with at any time, was critical. Wendy saved our project from the day she drove on site. First off, Wendy listened closely to what my wife and I envisioned for the home, and worked within our frame-of-comfort, not only to provide design options, but to make recommendations based upon her extensive experience. As issues arose, from choosing shingle color, gable design, interior/exterior paint color, kitchen hardware, bathroom layout and tile, lighting, vanities and more, Wendy provided her opinion keeping in mind how the total project would come together in the end. Many decisions need to be made early on (electrical outlet placement, window locations) to avoid costly changes at the end, and Wendy helped minimize those errors. Through Wendy’s experience working in high-end homes, she has developed trusted relationships with professional tradesmen and women who are masters and artisans. From countertop installations to complex tile layouts, these people did their jobs to perfection. Wendy is so easy to work with, and I could count on her with the largest or smallest task. I never had to ask twice, and her pro-active, on-site, hands-on work ethic made her an integral member of the team. She coordinated everything with my contractor and kept me in the loop on all discussions. She doesn’t milk the time clock, and her fees are extremely reasonable for what she delivers. Having made a total renovation investment of over $700K (not including cost of home), I can't image having gone through this process without her. Even for much smaller jobs, I cannot recommend Wendy Haywood from InsideOut highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

We have known Wendy for years now as she helped us build a home after the Black Forest Fire. She was kind and gracious when we were not in a good place to make decisions. She was able to lead us in home selections AND furnishings after and really created a home that looks and feels just like us. I’ve seen her other homes and she really can do anything!
