Always courteous and responsive, excellent craft and repair work. We have hired this company for two renovations, one 1920 house and one 1831 house, both were handled with care and savvy.

Bad things happen to good houses. My c. 1929 Colonial Foursquare retains many significant authentic features, but decades ago, the columned front porch with arch and boxed-parapet were shrink-wrapped in aluminum siding, compromising the historic character, integrity and beauty of the house. Removal of the aluminum revealed that while trim alone had been removed from the arch, only the frame work of the parapet remained intact. Without an historic photo to go by, I worked with a local architectural historian to identify an appropriate design for restoration of features long gone. While the paint crew stripped all of the window and door casings and trim down to the wood, a highly skilled craftsman scaled the rough drawing I provided, then worked carefully to restore the parapet and arch with appropriate detailing. I had enlisted Wilson-Covington for two smaller projects in recent years, I had every confidence that the quality of both the work and the experience would be superior.

Wilson-Covington does great work, and we were very pleased with the construction on our house. They responded quickly to questions and kept us very involved; not to mention that the craftsmanship is superb.

We have worked with Hayes Wauford and his associates for over 20 years on various notable and historic reconstruction and restoration jobs such as Korner's Folly in Kernersville, NC, and the Salt-Flax house in Winston salem, NC. We have always enjoyed partnering with them throughout the years.

They have been responsible for renovating one of our offices, built a brand new one, and we will be working with them again in 2015 to update the appearance of one of our offices. They are hard working and dedicated to the project they are working on and all the employees are professional, highly skilled, and extremely dependable.

Wilson-Covington has done absolutely excellent work all over our city. Seeing the incredible historic restorations they do in Old Salem is a marvel, but they apply the same attention to detail and embody the same craftsmanship in regular homes. They have helped us with everything from concrete repair to a full kitchen remodel. We have used them for dry-wall, tiling, cabinet installation, trim installation, and every time their employees are respectful, expedient, and especially do great work. They are very competitive price-wise. I cannot imagine working with a better company and highly recommend them for the smallest or biggest projects.

Wilson-Covington has completed 2 major remodeling jobs at our residence. The first project entailed adding a small porch/entry to the main entrance to our home. It is absolutely (exactly) how I envisioned it would turn out! It improved the curb appeal of our home, and functionally, provides shelter when entering and exiting our house. The project was finished within budget and in the time that had been projected. A couple of years later, when contemplating and planning a major (MAJOR!) upgrade to our kitchen and adjoining room, and adding additional square footage to create a very large eat-in kitchen and small sitting area, we again chose Wilson-Covington. Our previous experience assured us that we would be able to get the quality we knew that the company would provide, at a price that was reasonable and affordable. All of the sub-contractors were extremely professional, knowledgeable, respectful and over-the-top thoughtful. It is not an easy task to work within the confines of a family's day-to-day living space, especially disabling the kitchen, which is typically one of the "hubs" of a home. Wilson-Covington did everything possible to ensure that the project did not have to be any more disruptive than it had to be. I would recommend this company for any construction project.
