Woody’s Custom Landscaping has completed two projects for us. We have a beautiful back patio as well as a front walkway. Woody and Darren are timely with their responses and the crew does impeccable work. I highly highly highly recommend them.

Woody's Custom Landscaping worked in our yard for over 3 months. We had a landscape plan for hard-scape and plants. When you have a crew of guys working in your yard for as long as we had, you get to know them very well. I have to say that they were always professional, polite, respectful, punctual and knowledgeable. Woody checked the progress on a regular basis. We installed new irrigation, lawn, boulder walls, two paver patios, a fountain, a fire pit, and two paver driveway areas. They were patient even as I changed my mind and they never made me feel that I was asking a stupid question. I can not say enough good about this company. I would hire them again in a minute. With Woody and Darren, their word is their bond.

From the very first meeting we had with Woody to discuss our project, we knew from the outset that his company was the one that we would hire to do our backyard. He was professional, personable, quite knowledgeable in every aspect of the job, and very sincere. We showed him a diagram that we drew up ourselves of our ideas and goals for the results we wanted, and he was completely on board and had great ideas to mesh with ours. The crew that was assigned to our job were exceptional!! Darren, the foreman, along with Arthur, Salvador, Jimmy, and Cecintia were here before 7am and worked hard and meticulously nonstop every day. They all were respectful, courteous, did quality work, and were always professional. We would highly recommend Woody and his entire crew to any future prospective clients, especially if their goals are professionalism, knowledge and quality of work, and meeting deadlines and budgets. Darren and his crew did a wonderful job on our walkway. Their craftsmanship and design was great. They were neat, clean, and took pride in their craftsmanship. Even during the snowy weather, Darren always kept us informed as to his ability to keep on schedule. At the end of the project, they took time to do a great job on the cleanup. My only complaint is that now I want to have Darren do my whole yard!!

Woody and his team were amazing! We bought a new construction house so there was nothing but dirt and weeds in the backyard. They took an unusable space and transformed it into a wonderful area for our family and friends to enjoy time outside. Woody is very easy to work with and was patient as I made some changes throughout the install. His team was punctual, respectful and hard working. Woody’s Custom Landscaping completed a front yard re-landscaping project in October 2017 for us. We had five year old “construction grade” landscaping which were the typical lawn, one tree, and shrubs along the front of the house you get with a new home. Linda Myer of L Myer Design, created a wonderful hidden garden landscape design which included replacing the sidewalk from the driveway to front door with a unique paver patio/sidewalk combination, incorporating shrubs and trees to screen the neighbors driveway, and the complete elimination of a lawn to mow. She recommended three landscaping companies and we received bids from all three. We selected Woody’s Custom Landscaping for our project for the following reasons: We left a message on their office phone and Woody was prompt in returning the call and setting up an appointment to meet with us; he reviewed our landscape design and agreed that he could install it as designed without problems; he made some suggestions for available options and listened to our desires in selecting options or not; and his bid was lower than the other landscaping companies. Once selected as our landscaper, Woody gave us his personal cell phone number as well as the number of his superintendant Darin. They gave us an anticipated start date about six weeks out which accommodated our schedule as well as theirs. Darin contacted us with an exact start date about a week out and they showed up on that morning with a team and equipment to start the project. Woody’s team was on the project every day until it was completed. Once completed they checked back with us to make sure everything was as requested. We had two issues, one with irrigation and one with a low spot in the patio. Woody immediately sent his irrigation and paver specialists out to address our concerns. We paid Woody roughly half of the bid price on the first day of work and the final payment on their last day of work. They adjusted the final bill to reflect a $200 savings for not installing a second stone step which was in the design but not required as built. We did not ask for the adjustment, Woody just treated us fairly and adjusted the bill because it was the right thing to do. And that sums up our dealings with Woody and his team: although we had a written contract, a handshake was Woody’s promise and he lived up to that promise in every respect – communications, listening, meeting commitments, quality of workmanship, and finally cost. We would use Woody’s Custom Landscaping again and can highly recommend them.

When I moved to Vancouver this year after living all my life in the frozen tundra of the midwest (yes, I am a Packer fan), I knew I would need a lot of help with landscaping my new home so I would not make expensive mistakes with unfamiliar plants. I read online reviews of several landscapers and decided to have Woody provide an estimate. I was so impressed that I did not get any further estimates. To help me make sure I would get the right help creating the landscape I wanted, he suggested a landscape architect he has worked with for many years, Carolyn Gregg of Gregg and Ellis in Portland. It was the best investment I could have made, getting a beautiful design with the plantings arranged artistically and spaced to allow room for each plant's full growth. The plantings are very well placed to best camouflage my views of neighbors' homes and screen their view into my yard. I did not want a row of trees and plants straight along the brown face, thereby creating a green fence! The design angles plantings so it is a lovely yard full of a wide variety of plants that will grow successfully here. She incorporated my preferred color palette (from Sunset Magazine), low maintenance plants, and not one blade of grass, exactly as requested. Then Woody and his excellent crew took over, prepared the ground and implemented the design perfectly. There were some necessary, minor re-arrangements to allow for optimal drainage, etc., but it looks perfect and I couldn't be happier. Since it was a fall installation, I am excited to see all the colors in spring. The workers were always polite, pleasant, interesting to talk to, worked very hard, and respected my property. They unfailingly cleaned up any dirt and debris before leaving. I enjoyed being able to provide water and a few snacks for them each day because they were so easy to work with. Luis constructed the beautiful water feature that can be seen from my living room, dining room, pergola and patio; its pleasant bubbling sound is soooo relaxing. Darren, the supervisor, made sure the pergola was constructed perfectly, with lattice sides for clematis vines. Arthur, Jim and the other workers were always patient with my questions and showed me how to work with the water feature and the drip irrigation system that I was not familiar with. If you would prefer they do not smoke on your property, please let them know at the beginning of the work and it will not be a problem. From talking with neighbors who got more estimates for their projects, I understand Woody's was not the least expensive or the most expensive, but the skill of the workers, the excellent quality of the completed work, and the beauty and high quality of all the plantings are completely satisfactory to me and well worth the cost, since there were no unexpected changes or additions. I highly recommend Woody's Landscaping.

A big thank you to everyone at Woody's Custom Landscaping for helping me realize my vision for our backyard! We had a difficult property (drops in elevation about 20’) that was really unusable. Now we have a wonderful switchback path snaking down to the bottom of the property created with dry stack rock and surrounded by beautiful plantings. I was very impressed with the quality of their work and really appreciated that they were easy to work with and really listened to my ideas. It was a big project and I couldn't be happier with the results.

We had Woody's Custom Landscaping create a patio area for us in 2010. They prepped the area by digging down a couple of feet in some areas and leveling the area meticulously. They laid gravel and sand, tamped it down and again leveled the area. They installed pavers over the 400 sq ft area and an amazing seat wall, fire pit and accent stones. It looked gorgeous at the time. The best part? It is still, 7 years later, in wonderful shape. No sagging pavers or chipped stones. No gaps or drainage problems. I am amazed and credit the skill and attention to detail of Woody and his crew. Thanks so much! First three photos are at installation. Last one is two years later.

Woody, Darren and the entire crew were fantastic to work with. I found Woody on Houzz.com and hired him to rip out all existing grass, old planting beds, cement blocks and edging, and one dying tree and then relandscape. I changed and updated my design plans at least four times and Woody patiently provided updates to the itemized quote each time. They put in beautiful pavers in the front yard, prepped new and extended planting beds, added sod, and planted some new trees. They also fixed and updated the sprinkler lines. Everything came out beautifully! And the crew was friendly and communicative, so I always knew their plans and progress. Plus they cleaned up before leaving every day, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Woody's to anyone, especially if you're doing a large project and want peace of mind that it will be done right. Thank you!

I was very pleased with the performance and professional of both the installation crew and management. The installers worked vey well together and completed the project ahead of schedule with no issues or problems. Very nice work and I will definitely use this firm again!
