A colonnade is a series of evenly spaced columns that create an outdoor room. It can be attached to a building or freestanding, and it can have a roof or not.

Colonnades can be at the facade of a building, freestanding, or, as in this case, in an interior creating an atrium.
A modern colonnade made of steel girders spaced evenly apart creates this outdoor patio.

This is an example of an ancient-Greek-style colonnade, though it is a folly. If it were attached to an entrance of a building, it would be called a portico.
