Dazzle Them With a Rug
"That rug really tied the room together!"
-The Dude, The Big Lebowski
Some people talk about "focal points," some talk about "wow factors," but what it really comes down to is that your room needs a star. Sometimes it's an eye-popping sofa, sometimes it's an attention-grabbing painting or sculpture, sometimes it's a spectacular fireplace. Today, I'm going to show you some superstar rugs.
A rug can be considered a work of art - especially when you find one that is hand-knotted, perhaps one designed by Vivienne Westwood, or one you haul back from a market in Istanbul. The bottom line is, you probably will wince if someone walks on it in shoes, a party guest stands over it with a glass of Shiraz, or if fluffy goes within five feet of it, and that's okay. All of these are signs that you absolutely adore your rug. Let's take a look at some show-stoppers, that are worthy of making all the other elements in the room work with them.
SIDE NOTE: Apologies if I've used that quote before. I cannot think about rugs without thinking about The Dude.
