Ha! Now I know the right way(s)! In the past I just used the Handy-woman's Friend: Duct Tape & Spackle. :-) But it worked!!

I know this is an older thread, but my electrician just left my house with this mess and I want to know the best way to fix. The painter is coming tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should start getting supplies, he thinks it's just touch up work.

Kimmie...Cut the hole square and use my (prior1) fix. I just repaired a ceiling hole in a closet resulting from electrical work. It won't be done tomorrow (you need to do a few coats of joint compound and sand) but it makes a nice, easy, invisible repair. Just go over that spot with left over paint from the painter...
