The entire first floor is oriented toward an expansive row of windows overlooking Lake Champlain. Radiant heated polished concrete floors compliment white oak detailing and painted cabinetry. A scandinavian-style slatted wood stairwell keeps the space airy and helps preserve sight lines to the water from the entry.

It's a comfortable room with a great deal of natural light. The panelling, birch and black-trim room dividers, and built-ins are all original to the home. We upgraded the large built-in by replacing the birch doors with glass and custom shelving -- housing not only the television and stereo components, but china and crystal.

This small bedroom features a bold, matte black accent wall, as well as a detailed sunburst, vintage, wall divider, being used as a headboard. Floating shelves on the side are functional without compromising space.

The birch panel dividers separate the den from the dining room. The shoji screens are original to the house. The glass doors on the entertainment center were originally birch and custom shelving was installed.

Greenfield Cabinetry Hancock door style with reverse raised panel in Chalk painted finish were installed in this kitchen. Amenities included are: roll-out trays, drawers, double wastebasket cabinet, tray dividers, pantry pull-out, diagonal super susan, and peg drawer inserts. MSI Calacatta Laza Quartz with ¼” double roundover edge are installed in the kitchen and desk area. The tile backsplash is Craft II White Gloss 3x12 tile on the range and sink walls. A Blanco Precis double bowl kitchen sink with 1-3/4” low divide in white with a Moen Arbor U faucet with pull-down spray. A new Andersen 400 Series window was installed in the kitchen. In the kitchen pantry, custom ¾” birch plywood shelving was installed. Three custom floating shelves were installed over the desk area. Daroca 12x24” Atar tile was installed on the floor.

We took out the dividing wall between the front living room and the kitchen and dining room to create one large gathering space, perfect for a young family and for entertaining friends! We kept the appliances in the same locations, but really expanded the amount of workspace and cabinet storage by taking out the peninsula and adding a large island. The cabinetry, from Holiday Kitchens, is a blue-gray color on the lowers and classic white on the uppers. The countertops are walnut butcherblock on the perimeter and a marble looking quartz on the island. The backsplash, one of our favorites, is a diamond shaped mosaic in a rhombus pattern, which adds just the right amount of texture without overpowering all the gorgeous details of the cabinets and countertops. The hardware is a champagne bronze - one thing we love to do is mix and match our metals! The faucet is from Kohler and is in Matte Black, the sink is from Blanco and is white. The flooring is a luxury vinyl plank with a warm wood tone - which helps bring all the elements of the kitchen together we think! Overall - this is one of our favorite kitchens to date - so many beautiful details on their own, but put together create this gorgeous kitchen!

The theme for the design of these four bathrooms was Coastal Americana. My clients wanted classic designs that incorporated color, a coastal feel, and were fun. The master bathroom stands out with the interesting mix of tile. We maximized the tall sloped ceiling with the glass tile accent wall behind the freestanding bath tub. A simple sandblasted "wave" glass panel separates the wet area. Shiplap walls, satin bronze fixtures, and wood details add to the beachy feel. The three guest bathrooms, while having tile in common, each have their own unique vanities and accents. Curbless showers and frameless glass opened these rooms up to feel more spacious. The bits of blue in the floor tile lends just the right pop of blue. Custom fabric roman shades in each room soften the look and add extra style.

Welcome to the essential refined mountain rustic home: warm, homey, and sturdy. The house’s structure is genuine heavy timber framing, skillfully constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. Distressed beams and posts have been reclaimed from old American barns to enjoy a second life as they define varied, inviting spaces. Traditional carpentry is at its best in the great room’s exquisitely crafted wood trusses. Rugged Lodge is a retreat that’s hard to return from.
