Inspiration for a mid-sized eclectic carpeted living room remodel in New York with beige walls and no fireplace

Found on the East Side of Milwaukee, this gorgeous house is home to a successful young couple who loves to entertain! From the stunning mirrored fireplace, to the custom window treatments and gorgeous furniture pieces, this is a perfect fit for the owners! Photography by David Bader

Longer hanging storage for special dresses and longer clothes is topped by two shelves that hold books, art, a special photo of the lady and her daddy, and other objects that add visual interest to the room.

This home was a sweet 30's bungalow in the West Hollywood area. We flipped the kitchen and the dining room to allow access to the ample backyard. The design of the space was inspired by Manhattan's pre war apartments, refined and elegant. The back splash is a striped marble tile and the rounded open shelving softens the edge and is what you would find in a 30's style home.

Elegant formal living room photo in New York with a standard fireplace

Located in San Rafael's sunny Dominican neighborhood, this East Coast-style brown shingle needed an infusion of color and pattern for a young family. Against the white walls in the combined entry and living room, we mixed mid-century silhouettes with bold blue, orange, lemon, and magenta shades. The living area segues to the dining room, which features an abstract graphic patterned wall covering. Across the way, a bright open kitchen allows for ample food prep and dining space. Outside we painted the poolhouse ombre teal. On the interior, we echoed the same fun colors of the home.

Large pieces of irregular shaped bluestone, with its organic feel is the material selected for the patio. Large bluestone slabs bridge the dry stream bed leading to the lawn and Tea House beyond. Hardscaping materials were chosen for there quiet appearance -bluestone, Aqua Blue boulders, and pea gravel with its gray and white neutral coloration.

A modest distressed cabinet adds a touch of soft blue and Asian influence to this space. The mirror is made from a recovered wooden window panel from a Chinese village. Also pictured: Double Happiness Blue and White Ginger Jar, Blue and White Porcelain Garden Stool
