A Classical home library was created using character grade walnut . The room features built in cabinetry and window seats with green silk velvet cushions. The tall custom wire cabinet houses a printer in the bottom cabinet. There are shelf slides in the bottom cabinets. This ergonomic desk raises at the push of a button to a preset height for when my client wants to continue working, but no longer wants to be seated. The extra-long cables and cords roll up inside the custom covers that hide the metal legs when the desk is in the lowered position. The cabinet fronts are decorative metal with brown speaker mesh to limit dust and provide ventilation. There are temperature controlled sensors inside the cabinets that suck air out of the exterior of the building when it reaches 75 degrees inside the cabinets to prevent the computer equipment from overheating.

A dark office in the center of the house was turned into this cozy library. We opened the space up to the living room by adding another large archway. The custom bookshelves have beadboard backing to match original boarding we found in the house.. The library lamps are from Rejuvenation.

This fabulous home office was so appreciated when everything was shut down due to the virus. To the right is an outdoor pergola patio with a fireplace and slide-back doors that open the space up and extend the room. The desk is custom designed. The mortise and tenon design allows lots of openings to hide hard drives and wiring which is always the downfall of a great home office. It was a must from us as a design firm that all technology be hidden when not in use.
