Eat-in kitchen - transitional l-shaped dark wood floor eat-in kitchen idea in Chicago with beaded inset cabinets, white cabinets, white backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island, an undermount sink, marble countertops and subway tile backsplash

This couple had enough with their master bathroom, with leaky pipes, dysfunctional layout, small shower, outdated tiles. They imagined themselves in an oasis master suite bathroom. They wanted it all, open layout, soaking tub, large shower, private toilet area, and immaculate exotic stones, including stunning fixtures and all. Our staff came in to help. It all started on the drawing board, tearing all of it down, knocking down walls, and combining space from an adjacent closet. The shower was relocated into the space from the closet. A new large double shower with lots of amenities. The new soaking tub was placed under a large window on the south side. The commode was placed in the previous shower space behind a pocket door, creating a long wall for double vanities. This bathroom was rejuvenated with a large slab of Persian onyx behind the tub, stunning copper tub, copper sinks, and gorgeous tiling work. Shower area is finished with teak foldable double bench and two rubber bronze rain showers, and a large mural of chipped marble on feature wall. The large floating vanity is complete with full framed mirror under hanging lights. Frosted pocket door allows plenty of light inside. The soft baby blue wall completes this welcoming and dreamy master bathroom.

Kitchen in a 1920s Colonial Revival home was totally gutted and renovated. In addition to updated electrical, plumbing, and lighting, new windows were added bringing in lots of natural light. Antique oak beams and used brick veneer provide contrast and lend a rustic touch. Warm site-finished white oak floors ground the space and provide more contrast, as do the natural grass shades. Stainless steel appliances provide a sleek modern edge without overwhelming the space, while a crackle subway tile accented with beaded and black liners give a nod to the traditional. Countertops of Olympian White Vermont Danby marble in the main work area have a subtle gray veining.

Evan Nicely of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Bethesda, MD, collaborated with Devore Enterprises on a multi-room design project. This project includes the kitchen, bathroom, office, and mudroom, highlighting a transitional design style and featuring Green Forest and Smart Cabinetry. The kitchen features Green Forest Park Place cabinets in a White finish, complemented by MSI Carrara Marmi quartz countertops. In both the office and mudroom areas, Smart Sheffield cabinets in a Polar White finish complemented by Wilsonart Laminate Carrara Marble countertops. For the main bathroom, Green Forest Park Place cabinets in a rich Espresso finish harmonized with Virginia Marble Chipped Ice vanity tops. In the basement bathroom, white Green Forest Park Place cabinets pair with a Virginia Marble Niagara vanity top. Finally, the laundry room features Green Forest cabinets in a Speciale Grey finish, with Wilsonart Carrara Marble countertops completing the space. Evan highlighted that working with the client on these projects is always a pleasure. “Since this project was new construction, we had freedom and options when designing the different rooms.
