The most notable design element is the exceptional use of reclaimed wood throughout almost every design component. Sourced from not only one, but two different Indiana barns, this hand hewn and rough sawn wood is used in a variety of applications including custom cabinetry with a white glaze finish, dark stained window casing, butcher block island countertop and handsome woodwork on the fireplace mantel, range hood, and ceiling. Underfoot, Oak wood flooring is salvaged from a tobacco barn, giving it its unique tone and rich shine that comes only from the unique process of drying and curing tobacco. To keep the design from being too monotonous, concrete countertops are selected to outline the perimeter cabinetry, while wire mesh cabinet frontage, aged bronze hardware, primitive light fixtures and playful bar stools liven the space and add a touch of elegance. Here, it’s all scaled up for dramatic impact—from the stunning demilune buffet and artwork above it, to the elegant Garner table with a wide urn pedestal base. This dining room takes its inspiration from near and far: the classic parquet design on the table was inspired by the oak floors of a 17th-century château, and the Maisie chandelier reinvents colonial primitive styling for today. Folding doors at the end of the family room open to bring the pool inside. A strong visual axis connects the fire pavilion and pool with the family room, encouraging a walk outside to the distant jewel. High windows and vertical siding are inspiration to invoke the interior of a barn. The family room is open and comfortable for small or large gatherings.

Big bunches of only five items creates a strong winter display on this Craftsman front porch. Primary pieces are curly willow, Magnolia leaves, silver dollar and mixed greens.

This extravagant design was inspired by the clients’ love for Bali where they went for their honeymoon. The ambience of this cliff top property is purposely designed with pure living comfort in mind while it is also a perfect sanctuary for entertaining a large party. The luxurious kitchen has amenities that reign in harmony with contemporary Balinese decor, and it flows into the open stylish dining area. Dynamic traditional Balinese ceiling juxtaposes complement the great entertaining room that already has a highly decorative full-size bar, compelling wall bar table, and beautiful custom window frames. Various vintage furniture styles are incorporated throughout to represent the rich Balinese cultural heritage ranging from the primitive folk style to the Dutch Colonial and the Chinese styles.
