This previously unused attic space is now a sauna/yoga room. The left sauna wall follows the attic rafters down diagonally to allow a wider space for leg room on the twin sauna benches.

Custom Surface Solutions (www.css-tile.com) - Owner Craig Thompson (512) 430-1215. This project shows the remodel of a small 1950's vintage home master bathroom. 8"" x 18" Calcutta gold marble tile was used on the shower walls and floor wall base and ceramic gray penny tile on the floor. Shower includes curbless pan / floor, dual shower boxes, frameless glass slider, trough duel fixture sink and chrome fixtures.

This was a fun build and a delightful family to work and design with. The ladder is aesthetically pleasing and functional for their space, and also much safer than the previous loft access. The custom welded steel frame and alternating step support system combined with light colored, solid alder wood treads provide an open feel for the tight space.

Color was important to our client. While she loves pink, we opted for a calming blue, green, cream and beige accent tile that went perfectly with the shower wall tile. Photo Credit - Kristen Callahan

Includes shower box with linear glass accent tile back and vertical glass accent band. Tile edges are finished with Schluter Jolly satin aluminum profile edge trim.

The overall pattern of the patio is revealed as a "river" of irregular stones breaking the rectilinear pattern of the main field of the patio. The changes in textures and pattern expand the small backyard space while the uniform colors keep the design from feeling "busy". The plants will fill in and provide another layer of textural interest in this Asian-inspired back yard. The white flags indicate location for future lighting.
