In the kitchen, mismatched cabinetry was gutted. New shaker‐style cabinets were installed, including a refrigerator enclosure, decorative hood vent, and large storage island with seating for two. Slab granite throughout is paired with a reproduction pressed-‐tin backsplash. New appliances include a gas cooktop, double wall oven, hood vent, kitchen sink and sink filler, dishwasher, and instant hot water tank. A hidden cabinet for a television was added above the refrigerator.

Tower Paddle Boards, or Tower (as in a lifeguard tower), is a dedicated stand up paddle boarding brand started by Stephan Aarstol and later funded by Shark Tank icon Mark Cuban on ABC's hit show.
Simply Stunning Spaces has had the absolute pleasure of watching this company grow from their small office space in Pacific Beach to expanding their warehouse space and most recently gaining a prominent location on one of San Diego's most recognizable streets, Garnet Ave.
This space had a long ways to go to becoming something simply stunning but the end result was just that. By removing the ceiling tiles and opening up to the 15 foot ceilings hidden away we were able to maximize the square footage of the office, gain a second floor of office space and dedicate the bottom floor to retail and event space for the SUP community to enjoy.
Some of our favorite features: the 31 foot Tower mural inside the glass enclosed private work space, the outdoor painted signage, the sand blasted ceilings which were definitely worth it! The exposed duct work add to its industrial feel and the glass enclosed shaping room in the window is an absolute show stopper!
The bar we built for the previous office space fit just perfectly in the new space. We love repurposing whenever we can and the dedicated niche we built to house all the really cool awards and recognitions the owner and company have received were well deserving of being highlighted. It's not too often you can say you've been in Inc magazine, Forbes, 20/20... just to name a few!

When I bought my house in May 2014, there was one thing I really didn’t like about it – the 1950s bathroom complete with pink tile and mismatched gaudy fixtures was absolutely hideous. I knew redoing the bathroom would be a big, expensive project, so I vowed to just live with it while I fixed up parts of the house that were easier to update, such as putting a fresh coat of paint on the walls and updating the curtains (which I still haven’t done, by the way). Well my first winter in the new house turned out to be a bad one, and in February 2015, I noticed water stains on the walls and ceiling of the second bedroom that only got worse and worse each day. The water damage quickly spread to other rooms, and when contractors came to the house to access and fix the damage, they discovered moisture behind the pink tiled walls of my bathroom. And so started the bathroom remodel.
Start to finish, this project took close to six months, due to going back and forth with insurance and difficulty finding a contractor I liked. I lived without a shower for at least four of those months, showering at the gym where I worked or in a pop-up tent in my backyard once it was warm enough out. My friend Eric and I demoed the bathroom and for the remodel, I picked out all of the design components and had a local contractor, Fred Haas do the work. I kept the original layout – as my bathroom was small to begin with and it was both impractical and expensive to start moving things around – but just about everything else about the bathroom is new, except for maybe the window and door. New tub, sink, and toilet, new tile floor and shower surround, new walls and ceiling, fresh paint, new fixtures and mirror, updated lighting, and a better ventilation system were all added.
Tub – Sterling Vikrell
Toilet – Kohler Wellworth® two-piece round-front dual-flush toilet
Sink – Kohler Veer™ 21" pedestal bathroom sink
Fixtures – Kohler Alteo® line
Tile floor and shower surround – American Olean Laurel Heights ceramic tile in Summit Gray
Lighting – I don't remember... will have to see if I can find it
Ventilation system – NuTone
Mirror – Ikea
Paint – Behr
Shower Curtain – eBay
Here are photos of my project from start to finish. As you can see, I probably still need a thing or two (a toilet paper holder, mini storage shelf, and some art wouldn’t hurt, nor would replacing the door or painting it white), but overall I’m really happy with how my new bathroom came out. I LOVE it, which is the exact opposite of how I felt about the original bathroom.

Jutting out from the rock cliff, this high-end home has a breathtaking view at every angle of the valley below and surrounding mountains. A portion of the pool is suspended 400 in mid-air, presenting us with somewhat of a construction challenge. It was a requirement to drain the pool for winter and as such every pipe had to gravity drain into the surge tank below. Two-thirds of the pool water volume is stored in a cistern immediately below to be circulated during the winter. In order to have the option for use throughout the year the pool was covered with a Hydralux cover and heated during the winter months. This Hydralux cover had to be installed with extreme precision in the pool, as well as, the additional Hydralux installed for the whirlpool. As the pool infinity edge challenges the water levels the cover operates on, the levels need to be maintained at all times. Special water systems were installed in order to achieve this with a simple red light indicator for the home owners ease of use. In a high-end home such as this, all work must be done to a high level of precision including installing all the equipment in the mechanical room in a neat, organized and tidy manner. Even though the mechanical systems for the pool and whirlpool operations are complex it needed to have elements of simplicity for the owner and their caretakers to operate. To further enhance the customers enjoyment of this luxurious pool, a UV, Ozone and Chlorinator Sanitation System, as well as, a Turbo Clean System were included. The exterior lighting is all managed in order for the areas to be lit without drawing your attention to light fixtures. Black Interstyle glass tile throughout the pool and whirlpool interiors give the water elements of the home a mountain lake aspect while the geometric design maintains the modern look to the home. An oculus over the whirlpool allows natural light into the covered area, creating a spectacular effect. For the perfect resort feel, a tanning ledge was included in the pool and for that late night swim, a set of LED lights were added.
