Inspiration for a transitional home design remodel in Oklahoma City

For this Encino Timeless Bathroom project, we embraced a classic yet modern aesthetic to create a serene and functional space that exudes elegance. The homeowners, long-time Encino residents, wanted a bathroom that felt timeless and welcoming. We achieved this by combining soft, neutral tones with high-end materials, such as subway tiles for the walls and hexagonal mosaic tiles for the shower floor. A large window allows natural light to flood the space, highlighting the polished chrome fixtures and frameless glass shower doors. Custom built-in shelving was incorporated for added convenience, maintaining the clean, minimalist look. This project was special because the homeowners shared stories of their travels, inspiring us to incorporate design elements that reflect both luxury and comfort. The timeless layout and durable materials ensure this bathroom will remain stylish for years to come, perfectly complementing their Encino home.

Doing a remodel with the thought of long term should always be in mind. So when doing this project i knew i didn't want grout in the shower, then what are my options for something that looks timeless, would stand up to years of soaps, shampoo and still look great in years to come. I had seen these sheets of porcelain from Spain at a trade show a number of years ago, it seemed that for my own bath it was a good project to give them a try. These are available in different sizes and thicknesses and i am really happy with them. The cast iron bath tub with an antiqued chrome wrap is the Whitby from Penhaglion, it sits in front of the window which has an opaque small patterned film covering the once clear glass. The bath and sink faucets, come from Penhaglion, that I have to say is an amazing company to work with. Heated floors in the bath and shower area as well as a Toto toilet, all pulled together with a vintage sideboard that was refinished to suite the plumbing of the 2 drop in sinks. This customer spent over 40 years building and renovating his home. In his younger days, he was an amazing building and craftsman. Recently, he suffered a stroke and lost the ability to build. He wants to leave his home to his daughter, so he planned one last renovation project. For this project, he wanted to choose a renovation company that could build a kitchen as well as he could. Luckily, he chose Wood Front Kitchens. He was thrilled with the result. He loved that we were able to keep storage features he had built in his previous cabinets and transfer them to the new cabinets. This homeowner chose shaker-style oak cabinets stained in Michels. He chose Amerock Conrad Square hardware in oil-rubbed bronze to give his rustic cabinets an industrial feel. He and his daughter are both pleased with the results, and with their huge increase in storage space.
