This covered porch has a beautiful dining table, refrigerator, barbecue and sink. Random width Advantage Garapa™ decking was chosen for this project because of its beautiful patina and unique design possibilities – not to mention that it complimented the home’s interior flooring beautifully! These random widths helped provide the look of flooring and give the deck enough strength to support the weight of all the kitchen equipment installed.

Corners in the kitchen prove to be a storage challenge. This easy reach wall cabinet is ideal for viewing and accessing plates and glasses.

Built-in deck components are becoming more popular as people expand their indoor living to the great outdoors. The bench seating and planters were constructed using the same material as the deck, Fiberon's composite decking - the ProTect Advantage line in 'Chestnut'. Planter boxes, like these, add visual interest and can soften the angles of a deck or patio. Fill planters with colorful flowers, tall ornamental grasses for privacy, or fresh herbs or vegetables that are only steps away from the outdoor kitchen!

Design: Jules Duffy Design; This kitchen was gutted to the studs and renovated TWICE after 2 burst pipe events! It's finally complete! With windows and doors on 3 sides, the kitchen is flooded with amazing light and beautiful breezes. The finishes were selected from a driftwood palate as a nod to the beach one block away, The limestone floor (beyond practical) dares all to find the sand traveling in on kids' feet. Tons of storage and seating make this kitchen a hub for entertaining. Photography: Laura Moss

The Palm Springs weather allows many outdoor gatherings, something the homeowners always do. The Ipe wood used in this siding has exceeded all expectations.
