Inspiration for a pool remodel in Vancouver

We used the timber frame of a century old barn to build this rustic modern house. The barn was dismantled, and reassembled on site. Inside, we designed the home to showcase as much of the original timber frame as possible. The custom-made brackets hold the stainless lights over the dining table. Photography by Todd Crawford

This client had an awkward garden that did not fit her lifestyle. It was too many levels and did not integrate with the lovely interior of her house. She wanted a enchanting garden, one that would beckon, one that would feel magical. Green Alchemy created a design that expanded the landing between the dining room french doors and the garden, creating a lovely transition space. Lengthy walkways of aggregate concrete were removed to make room for living space. Two different types of flagstone were coordinated with the decking stain to give the functional aspects of the garden interest and continuity. Flourishes of plantings and choice furnishings completed the look.
