These homeowners are well known to our team as repeat clients and asked us to convert a dated deck overlooking their pool and the lake into an indoor/outdoor living space. A new footer foundation with tile floor was added to withstand the Indiana climate and to create an elegant aesthetic. The existing transom windows were raised and a collapsible glass wall with retractable screens was added to truly bring the outdoor space inside. Overhead heaters and ceiling fans now assist with climate control and a custom TV cabinet was built and installed utilizing motorized retractable hardware to hide the TV when not in use.
As the exterior project was concluding we additionally removed 2 interior walls and french doors to a room to be converted to a game room. We removed a storage space under the stairs leading to the upper floor and installed contemporary stair tread and cable handrail for an updated modern look. The first floor living space is now open and entertainer friendly with uninterrupted flow from inside to outside and is simply stunning.

This existing client reached out to MMI Design for help shortly after the flood waters of Harvey subsided. Her home was ravaged by 5 feet of water throughout the first floor. What had been this client's long-term dream renovation became a reality, turning the nightmare of Harvey's wrath into one of the loveliest homes designed to date by MMI. We led the team to transform this home into a showplace. Our work included a complete redesign of her kitchen and family room, master bathroom, two powders, butler's pantry, and a large living room. MMI designed all millwork and cabinetry, adjusted the floor plans in various rooms, and assisted the client with all material specifications and furnishings selections. Returning these clients to their beautiful '"new" home is one of MMI's proudest moments!

This 1980s bathroom was originally a closet and galley shaped master bath for two. It was cramped, dark and nonfunctional for 2 people to dress in the morning. We demolished walls and fixtures to replace with a focal wall of Porcelanosa tile, laid on the vertical to mimic waves of high and low undulations. The vanity cabinets were custom made to float without base supports. Self closing glides and push open mechanisms make the cabinets highly functional. Electrical outlets are hardwired behind the drawers to conceal clutter.
Undermount rectangular sinks from Kohler. Backlight mirrors and under cabinets have an LED dimmer switch to use as a dim nightlight. Recessed can lights add to the natural southern window exposure. Countertops from Holland Marble.

The owners of this beautiful Johnson County home wanted to refresh their lower level powder room as well as create a new space for storing outdoor clothes and shoes.
Arlene Ladegaard and the Design Connection, Inc. team assisted with the transformation in this space with two distinct purposes as part of a much larger project on the first floor remodel in their home.
The knockout floral wallpaper in the powder room is the big wow! The homeowners also requested a large floor to ceiling cabinet for the storage area. To enhance the allure of this small space, the design team installed a Java-finish custom vanity with quartz countertops and high-end plumbing fixtures and sconces. Design Connection, Inc. provided; custom-cabinets, wallpaper, plumbing fixtures, a handmade custom mirror from a local company, lighting fixtures, installation of all materials and project management.

My clients had talked to many kitchen companies, but none seemed to provide a solution that made the best use of their space while keeping their costs low. As they decided to move on to decorating other areas in their home, they called me and my team at Design Connection, Inc. to assist with new furnishings for their great room. After much discussion about their needs, it was decided that the kitchen was the most important space to address.
The new design also included: New cabinets with soft closed drawers, appliances, lite glass storage cabinets, countertops, sinks, plumbing fixtures, installation of hardwood floors, plate racks, TV viewing area, painting and project management.
