Real entertaining occurs in a formal dining room. Having a well-appointed, sophisticated and mature dining room make guests feel catered to. My clients wanted a Timeless and Romantic environment for large parties as well as a candlelight dinner for two. We started with the light and airy feeling of the rug. Although traditional, it grounds the room. As described on ETHAN ALLEN’s website, the Barrymore Dining Table is stunning. Precise lines, an exotic wood finish, and graceful saber legs come together elegantly. This chic transitional design was absolutely what this room needed for a good foundation. The antiqued mirror glass and circular-cut mullions of the Brandt Buffet gave the room instant ambiance. Lastly, by mixing the chairs we allowed the room to remain fresh and whimsical. The Inspired Chinese Chippendale designs of the Jacqueline side chairs maintain transitional flair while the luxurious details of the Verlaine host/hostess chairs grab your attention when walking in the room. Glass, crystal and nickel then allow the room to sparkle!

The dramatic island takes the your breath away as it grabs your attention upon entering this timeless kitchen,while the cabinets’ sleek lines are given a elegant upgrade with the gold trim and lucite handles. We are in love with every detail of this magnificent space!

The first additions to Linda’s home takes place in the grand Spanish dining room. Grabbing your attention right away is the oversized, 19ft dining table, sitting under a hand forged, wrought iron chandelier. This tabletop is made from thick, natural, reclaimed wood, that beautifully ties into the authentic, timber-beamed ceiling. In our classic Gitana style, four teardrop bases with beveled edges make up the bottom half of this Spanish style table. Made from solid mesquite wood, these bases showcase natural stretches and imperfections, and bring out the same beautiful details that are present in the other additions to this impressive rustic dining room. Each side of the dining table is decorated with nine beautiful, hand-carved chairs. These solid mesquite chairs are hand carved with our popular Hoja style design in mind, and feature smooth, hand tooled leather. Not only do these chairs bring in style, but they also bring in a great deal of comfort for Linda and all of her guests.

When old floor tile started to crack and the cramped tub was uncomfortable due to keeping your knees bent to fit, the clients knew they wanted an update. They are skiers and wanted the luxury of a jetted tub and steam shower to relax & pamper sore muscles. It was important to them to incorporate blue, their favorite color and sleek contemporary fixtures and interesting , one of kind finishes. Featuring chromotherapy, and surrounded by a deck of stunning Italian glass & mirrored floral mosaic tile, the jetted tub grabs your attention. A beautiful oversized contemporary pendant light fixture, featuring 60 hanging swirl crystal pieces and balls from a mirrored canopy, emerges from the ceiling highlighting the Palladian window and tub. The steam shower is surrounded by in relief circular contemporary wall tile. Large cream colored marble floor tile, mosaic floor for the shower and granite bench and counter tops complete the finishes. “His and Hers” Indigo Blue vanities anchor the door. Custom cut mirrors over the door and each vanity are surrounded by millwork that highlights the vanities. Crystal beaded sconces that appear to float on the mirrors complete the design.

This twist on the trendy white on white kitchen grabs your attention by taking the two-toned kitchen one step further and bringing out a vibrant Royal Blue for the lower cabinets. The foyer is bright and elegant with its brick shaped travertine floors and the antique feel of the runner going up the wood and wrought iron staircase. The walls have a faux finish with texture but are light for a more modern feel. Lighting from Troy add to the landing above that grabs your attention when you enter the home.

These clients have a high sense of design and have always built their own homes. They just downsized into a typical town home and needed this new space to stand out but also be accommodating of aging in place. The client, Jim, has a handful of challenges ahead of him with dealing with Parkinson and all of it symptoms. We optimized the shower, enlarging it by eliminating the tub and not using a shower door. We were able to do a curbless shower, reducing the likelihood of falling. We used larger tiles in the bathroom and shower but added the anti slip porcelain. I included a built-in seat in the shower and a stand-alone bench on the other side. We used a separate hand shower and easy to grab handles. A natural palette peppered with some aqua and green breathes fresh, new life into a re-imagined UTC town home. Choosing materials and finishes that have higher contrast helps make the change from flooring to wall, as well as cabinet to counter, more obvious. Large glass wall tiles make the bathroom seem much larger. A flush installation of drywall to tile is easy on the eye while showing the attention to detail. A modern custom floating vanity allows for walker wheels if needed. Personal touches like adding a filter faucet at the sink makes his trips to take medicine a bit easier. One of my favorite things in design for any project is lighting. Not only can lighting add to the look and feel of the space, but it can also create a safer environment. Installing different types of lighting, including scones on either side of the mirror, recessed can lights both inside and outside of the shower, and LED strip lighting under the floating vanity, keep this modern bathroom current and very functional. Because of the skylight and the round window, light is allowed in to play with the different colors in the glass and the shapes around the room, which created a bright and playful bathroom. It is not often that I get to play with stain-glass, but this existing circular window, that we could NOT change, needed some love. We used a local craftsman that allowed us to design a playful stain-glass piece for the inside of the bathroom window, reminding them of their front door in their custom home years ago.

In this project, the client had some doubts in respect to the color and style of the siding he desired. After working extensively with him, we reached an agreement and got special order James Hardie Siding! Boston Blue was the color we signed off on, and it was the right choice. Located by the beach, this home renovation has grabbed the attention of the neighborhood along with all the visitors of the beach. We also constructed a new patio walkway in the rear of the house for the homeowner. A top quality job and a more than satisfied customer at the end was a mission accomplished!

This kitchen was designed for entertaining. The curved hood and the arched soffits grab your attention while the two islands provide tons of meal prep space as well as space to gather and spend time with one another. The windows under the wall cabinets are a great way to get in more natural light and a cross breeze into the kitchen. Classic white cabinets paired with the dark grey cabinets on both the islands and the refrigerator and oven tower make this a look that will stand the test of time.

The blue is such a joyous pop in this kitchen. These are white painted semi custom cabinets. The door style keeps it simple with the flat panel. The island cabinets are a textured laminate in the same simple door style. The island brings a really depth to the whole project and yet keeps it contemporary. The bright big window is left to grab all the attention, but with that island you won't sacrifice any storage. Here at DDK we are proud of this kitchen and it timeless fashion.
