The Cabinet Store + Culina DesignOver the course of six weeks we took their home from slightly outdated to stylishly modern. We began our work in the kitchen. Their existing space included oak raised panel cabinets and laminate countertops. We identified two problems right off the bat. First, the kitchen was home to an unfortunately placed island that broke up the room and made for horrible traffic flow. Second, the family was “oaked out,” with obviously dated oak cabinets abounding. The homeowners also requested that their countertops be replaced with a durable and low-maintenance material.
To begin, we replaced the island and created a peninsula to open up the kitchen. We upgraded the cabinets with Showplace Wood cherry cabinets in a truffle finish that matched the home’s entertainment center in the adjacent living room. Next, we replaced the family’s door with a Showplace Wood Concord style for a more modern feel. Finally, we swapped the existing laminate counters with Cambria natural quartz countertops in the Canterbury finish for a beautiful, maintenance free work surface.
Moving into the laundry room, we installed matching cabinets in this space as well. Last but not least, we installed new Wilsonart HD countertops and a Swanstone sink. With the remodel complete, we checked in with our homeowners and are happy to report pleased customers all around!

Cabinet-S-TopIn this kitchen, we updated the existing cabinets with new 3cm Cambria Canterbury Quartz countertops with a matching pass-through sill. A new Blanco Diamond double bowl sink in biscotti with Brizo single handle pull out faucet with Brilliance Brushed Bronze finish were installed. For the backsplash 3x6 Eternal Limestone in Jura Beige with SA60 Butternut Emperador linear mosaic tile and Xexon undercounter lighting.

The Cabinet Store + Culina DesignAs the leaves are falling and the temperatures are dropping, we have been busy contributing to the kitchen renovation of a two-story Lakeville home. The homeowners wanted to remove the kitchen’s peninsula to help prevent it from breaking up the space. Instead they wanted one large gathering area, increased storage, and seating for up to six, without needing to rely on the dining room table.
To help remedy the family’s storage woes, we added five feet of beautiful pantry space. In addition, we installed a small entertainment center. The homeowners added style and warmth to the kitchen with a combination of great colors and unique textures. The family chose the Chesapeake style door in a cherry cayenne finish. To compliment their cabinet choices, we installed Cambria countertops in the Canterbury design. The end result was a warm and inviting room much better suited to the family’s needs!

The Cabinet Store + Culina DesignThe home, built in the mid ’90s, needed an update. However, the family wanted to keep the renovations neutral enough to accommodate future changes and transformations. They had several project goals, including:
* Eliminate the family’s dining room table
* Add additional storage
* Create the new kitchen design within the footprint of their existing floor plan
* Make the refrigerator more easily accessible
To accomplish this, we removed the clunky dining room table and integrated seating into the home’s kitchen island. To remedy their storage woes we installed three large pantry cabinets. We also relocated the fridge for easier access. To add some style to the space, the family upgraded their cabinets to Showplace cabinets featuring the freeport door style in lyptus wood with a truffle finish. They replaced their existing countertops with Cambria Canterbury and installed a complementary Elkay granite sink.

The sloped ceiling features a realistic sky mural. Mirror-mounted sconces amplify the light as the new cabinetry makes the most of the high ceiling. A dedicated drawer for hair appliances is extra deep and has a built-in electrical strip and a tile base to prevent scorching.
The zero-entry shower gives a seamless look to the oblong tiles. Multiple tile mosaics in neutral colors add visual texture and interest. The faux painted ceiling lift the eye to the sloped ceiling.
