This paneled headboard was custom made to fit to the ceiling to create a tailored look. For a pop of sophistication, we added mirrors flanked on each side with integrated floating cabinetry and hanging pendants.

To create a colonial outdoor living space, we gut renovated this patio, incorporating heated bluestones, a custom traditional fireplace and bespoke furniture. The space was divided into three distinct zones for cooking, dining, and lounging. Firing up the built-in gas grill or a relaxing by the fireplace, this space brings the inside out.

We needed a bridge to cross the dry creek bed, so I designed a version of a Japanese yatsuhashi, or zig zag, bridge. It is clad in concrete backer board. I wanted to simulate a granite mountain plateau with a boulder peak. The client purchased the concrete lantern which perfectly complements the entrance to this woodland garden.

The homeowners of this old home in Greenwood Village, Colorado wanted two things: a space large enough to hold the dinner and cocktail parties they often hosted for business, and adhering to a strong traditional French design. The hardscape and custom pergolas are the foundation for a large entertaining area large enough for several tables. A Campania International fountain from Birdsall & Co. in a custom-made basin provides the focal point to the dining area. Several levels of retaining walls provide not only symmetry, accentuated by planted cast stone containers and pedestals, but also space for a bocce ball court at the highest level. A built-in barbecue and fire pit surrounding by teak Adirondack chairs make for a more intimate dining and conversation space, balancing out similar 'outdoor rooms' sprinkled throughout the landscape. Gravel pathways are reminiscent of traditional French gardens.

Cut bluestone lines the path to the Campania fountain. The middle of the path is planted with creeping thyme and the lime green ground cover is Creeping Jenny. There's also a little perennial geranium mixed in.

On the south side of the home is the family’s normal entrance. It is located in a somewhat awkward area between the driveway and the chimney. The chimney itself features an original architectural, brick detail which is visible in the winter following defoliation of the existing Boston Ivy. A new Campania urn and plinth are situated to be framed by this detail and has been connected to the client’s irrigation system for easier care. The urn is changed out seasonally for displays in spring, summer, fall and winter. Beneath the urn other seasonal displays can be displayed. Here is the fall display of mums, ornamental peppers and sweet potato vine in the urn which is echoed at the base by Swiss chard, mums and ornamental kale.

Linear paving patterns, create the bluestone walk and granite slabs frame the gravel motor court. Bands of layered plantings complement the structure of the adjacent hardscape, providing four seasons of interest. The black Farnley planters accent the finish of the steel and glass overhangs.

This Caribbean-styled bedroom was inspired by the clients' love for the Bahamas. Flanked by vintage mirrored chests, the bed with custom headboard fabricated in a modern botanical print was designed to accentuate the tall ceilings. The wall of cream linen drapes hides an off-skewed window. The walls are covered in Sherwin Williams Lakeshore.
