For the kitchen, custom two-tone green cabinetry was carefully selected to ensure the perfect match. A hammered copper sink brings brightness to the counter, and the unexpected copper metal finishes complete this kitchen’s aesthetic. Copper also has unique anti-microbial properties, which make it an excellent choice for a kitchen sink. Lastly, the soft grey quartz balances the design in tandem with the backsplash tile that has a muted marble tone and a 3-dimensional diamond profile.
The island front is clad with white kaleidoscope mosaics for visual and aesthetic interest, as well as serving a functional purpose. The clients own a dog, which scratched at the wooden millwork causing damage. For that purpose, we chose tiles to ensure the longevity of the new kitchen. At the very end of the island, a “dog cave” was carved out to keep his food and water.

When we renovate, we are sensitive to our clients’ specific needs. This client needed their apartment to be ADA compliant which meant total and complete accessibility. To accomplish that, we widened all the doorways and ensured that there were no level changes in the apartment, like there often are between floor finishes.

Situated within the esteemed confines of Battery Park City, this two-bedroom apartment, yearned for a contemporary makeover. The clients, a young couple, desired a more contemporary and open living concept, with a focus on enhancing the kitchen’s functionality by opening up the kitchen to the living room, creating newly updated bathrooms, and a spacious master bathroom with a shower conversion.

Within the walls of this architectural wonder, we created bespoke soft furnishings and specified iconic contemporary furniture, adding warmth to the industrial interior.
