A view through the grasses reveals the Chrysler Building and midtown skyline in the distance. The plantings are grasses, juniper, plums and maples found at the beach.

These doors were inspired by the elevator doors in the Chrysler building in New York. They used inlayed brass, steel, zinc and wood. I have used lead, zinc and art glass. Photo by artglassguy.

The massive chrome pedestal has inverted inlay triangles on every side and also conceals pedal mechanism – thus unifying and simplifying the overall visual statement. The black and chrome combination punctuated by triangle-derived motifs evoked Art Deco, placing this marvelously futuristic piano in the realm of the Chrysler Building of the future, or a skyscraper yet to be built.

During - 2016 - 50 year old Chrysler Imperial Rose transplanted 2 months ago and saved from the backyard. Cobblestone covered over gravel "dry creek." Lemon thyme, creeping thyme, alyssum and compact oregano planted surrounding the dry creek. Carpet roses filled in nicely. Flagstone walkway being laid. Yard will also be re-mulched.
