Situated along the perimeter of the property, this unique home creates a continuous street wall, both preserving plenty of open yard space and maintaining privacy from the prominent street corner. A one-story mudroom connects the garage to the house at the rear of the lot which required a local zoning variance. The resulting L-shaped plan and the central location of a glass-enclosed stair allow natural light to enter the home from multiple sides of nearly every room. The Arts & Crafts inspired detailing creates a familiar yet unique facade that is sympathetic to the character and scale of the neighborhood. A chevron pattern is a key design element on the window bays and doors and continues inside throughout the interior of the home.

This retaining wall project in inspired by our Travertina Raw stone. The Travertina Raw collection has been extended to a double-sided, segmental retaining wall system. This product mimics the texture of natural travertine in a concrete material for wall blocks. Build outdoor raised planters, outdoor kitchens, seating benches and more with this wall block. This product line has enjoyed huge success and has now been improved with an ultra robust mix design, making it far more durable than the natural alternative. This is a perfect solution in freeze-thaw climates. Check out our website to shop the look! https://www.techo-bloc.com/shop/walls/travertina-raw/

This dedicated wine cellar features floor-to-ceiling custom racking constructed from richly stained hardwood, accommodating a high-capacity collection across horizontal and angled bottle storage formats. Individual cubbies are designed for standard 750ml bottles, while select vertical shelving units allow for oversized formats, boxed spirits, and decorative decanters.
The flooring is finished in cork tile—chosen for its temperature-insulating and vibration-dampening properties—complementing the cellar's natural wood tones. Overhead, the slatted ceiling integrates hidden climate control vents for maintaining consistent humidity and temperature. A frameless glass door with wood trim separates the wine room from the adjacent butler’s pantry, which features stone countertops and additional cabinet storage for glassware and service accessories. Accent lighting is recessed above select racks, highlighting vintage labels and bottle necks without exposing inventory to direct light. Wall tones contrast deep red with neutral transitional hues, creating visual depth within this collector-grade storage environment.

The existing pool was way too large for the space, it took up the entire back yard.

the bamboo is a clumping variety called Bambusa eutuldoides viridi-vittata , Asian lemon bamboo. This variety is a clumper and you do not need to contain it, however, do allow an 8'by 10' area for its ultimate growth. Bamboo does require constant maintenance and you will need to do some research for the specific variety you choose. Once planted, it will become a beautiful focal point and add a stunning tropical accent. Photo Credit: Sherwood Cox

An IdealMow meadow of hardy Carex pansa fills much of the expansive backyard. It maintains its lush color year round, despite needing only 20 percent of the water needed by the turf grass that once filled the space. A bevy of California native sages and other blooms wraps the meadow, softening the Spanish tile-topped garden wall.

The homeowners desired an outdoor space that felt more rustic than their refined interior spaces, but still related architecturally to their house. Cement plaster support arbor columns provide enough of visual tie to the existing house exterior. Oversized wood beams and rafter members provide a unique outdoor atmosphere. Structural bolts and hardware were minimized for a cleaner appearance. Structural connections and supports were engineered to meet California's stringent earthquake standards.
