The lighting was key to this project. Originally, there was a couple of can lights and two pendants in the space leaving the room dark and dismal. I also noticed that all the lighting was off centered which was driving me crazy. Once I pointed the out to the client, she was obsessed on getting this right. To make this happen we needed to make this island much bigger!

This deep sink was added to the island that made the client extremely happy. Making the sink a color also makes this sink a feature instead of another plain sink.

One area of the kitchen that made it look outdated and traditional was a desk area (left back f the kitchen) that was used very infrequently. The suggestion was made to remove the desk area all together and put in a full cabinet for extra storage. The idea of removing this desk did not get a good reception at first but once the client decided to take a leap of faith, she plunged into the idea of having more storage and no useless desk area. My custom cabinet maker designed this cabinet to match the current cabinets and did it flawlessly!
