Rustic decorative nails-called clavos nails- and distressed stained cane sections were used on the cabinet panels of this unique kitchen. The owner desired an updated rustic look that complimented the wood panel ceiling, Italian ceramic wood grained floor tiles, and burnished copper sink and hood enclosure. Miles Enterprises worked with the homeowner to bring all of these design elements together in a kitchen that arrived at the look the customer desired. Our design team can bring your ideas and the latest styles and techniques together to create a one of kind kitchen for your home.

This client came to us wanting to enhance their existing space by using some creative finishes for walls. They hoped to make the home feel more modern with an urban rustic vibe as opposed to the traditional architectural style of the structure but did not know how to accomplish this transition. Upon our arrival it was noted that all walls had been painted white which was determined too harsh and did not achieve the modern feel the homeowner had hoped to evoke. The space was softened by using a subtle and fresh color palette with one accent color for impact. Teal was the color selected to create a continuous thread of pop in varying degrees in each room which included the Entry Hall, Dining Room and Living Room. Touches of black were injected into each space due to the client’s previous purchases of a drum fixture for the living room and black dining table; both gave direction on scale and style.
The Entry Hall was given powerful impact as someone enters the home by taking its cue from the abstract art selected for the Dining Room. A faux concrete wall was created with the use of artistically combined colors. In the Dining Room, the use of classic chairs are successfully made modern by upholstering in teal leather which added both continuity and unexpected interest next to the velvet Greek Key pattern found on host chairs. In the Living Room custom upholstered sofa and chairs are grounded by a rug that brings all colors together. A unique copper rivet finish was applied in the niches that flank the fireplace as a contrast to whimsical amber crystal mini chandeliers hung over modern consoles that display simple yet exciting teal bowls. The final furnishings, art and accessories ultimately brought the entire home together in a rustic, modern way that is warm and inviting reflecting the unique personality of the people who live there.

Timeless Classic.
The landscape must complement the architecture of the house, so designing this garden for our antique reproduction needed to harken back to a different time. Material choices such as antique brick, reclaimed granite, and natural-cleft bluestone were all incorporated into the composition to create a timeless beauty all within the context of a bygone setting.
Directly adjacent to the driveway and guest parking, the ‘kitchen garden’ was surrounded by a custom-built cedar fence with a self-closing cannonball gate. Herbs and cutting perennials fill the space as well as a small bench for reflection or to take a break from tending to the garden. From a functional standpoint, this has become the most-used entrance to the house, with the original main door serving only as decoration. The arrival sequence is easy to understand and has the guests passing through the landscape on a well-lit path via our hand-built copper lantern atop an architectural post. Planting was purposely kept to a minimum with mostly perennials and a couple of common lilacs — all keeping within the design intent.
Existing natural-cleft bluestone was repurposed with a linear approach for a dining and lounging terrace in the rear of the property. Three sides are surrounded by sun-loving plants with grass coming right up to the patio offering a seamless transition to the yard beyond.
Simple, elegant, and timeless.

Our empty nester clients purchased a lovely Burr Ridge cottage with the plan to create their dream home. Their main objective when they first met with LaMantia architectural designer Jackie Prazak was to create a kitchen large enough to accommodate their extended (and now grown) family. After several design revisions the clients agreed to give up a Bedroom and a Powder Room to gain the enlarged Kitchen, Walk-in Master Closet and a separate double-entry Laundry Room they so desired.
By moving the kitchen wall 3’ we were able to accommodate the large Kitchen and Island the clients so desired.
The main entry to the Kitchen was both moved and enlarged to enhance the arrival and the view into the enlarged space.
We were also able to reclaim attic space and create the volume ceiling with added beams to continue the theme of the Living and Dining Room ceilings. At this point LaMantia kitchen designer Katie Suva, CKD, CBD joined the team to begin the detailing of the cabinet layout.
The Family Room, with its new large stone flooring was recreated with specialties galore; including a walk-up wet Bar. We were also able to re-purpose the existing Study into a Guest Bedroom with built-in closets and cabinetry. What was once a laundry space now became a new large Laundry Room accessed from both the Master Walk-in Closet and the hallway.
In the Master Bedroom the exterior entry door was replaced with large open glass window panels. The Master Bath ceiling was reworked to accommodate a soaring Master Shower. And then there was the enlarged Master Closet that speaks for itself!
The existing Solarium took on a different personality with a re-aligned entry door and built-in cabinetry. This room now houses all the home office and craft activities.
The scope of this project included every room in the residence, with the utmost attention paid to every detail, and the outcome is definitely worthy of the Professional Remodeling 2014 Gold Award it just won!

A solid sheet of water pours down the tempered bronze mirror center, which can be customized with your logo. It is quiet enough to be used indoors, but tough enough to be installed outdoors. In either case, the fountain will be a focal point. There is even a halogen accent light for viewing after dark.
When your fountain arrives, you will have it installed and running in less than 30 minutes with no special tools. Our water fountains have adjustable flow valves, so that you can control how fast the water falls on the rocks. The Gardenfall will arrive with everything you need to install it, from the hardware to the smooth rocks and halogen accent light. Installation is a breeze--it should take less than half an hour with no special tools, so tranquility does not need to be delayed!

The plan for this sensational residence was the original creation of Ken Andersen and his associates at the
venerable firm of R.S. Granoff Architects. After enjoying their beautiful home for eight years, the owners felt
the time had arrived to expand and enhance their outside living space, and to complement it with an elegant
conservatory. Naturally, they turned to Ken for inspiration, who to our gratitude called on the Renaissance
Design Team to assist in bringing his plan and his clients’ dreams to fruition.
Meeting an exceptionally tight completion schedule was but one of many challenges for this fast-track job.
Thanks to the cooperation of every participant, first-shovel to completion was accomplished in an incredibly
short twelve weeks; all with minimal disruption to the family’s daily routine.
Ken Andersen’s relentless attention to the many intricacies clearly resonates in the glorious finished product.
GOALS:
• Create a conservatory garden room from which to savor the
seasonal splendor of the home’s expansive yards.
• Add a new stone patio and open air kitchen, easily accessible
from the new conservatory’s dining area.
• Provide access from the adjacent family room and the
convenience of a direct pathway to the kitchen.
• Eliminate the shared family room wall to enhance room size,
traffic flow, and natural lighting.
• Accomplish all this in a manner consistent with the home’s
fine Tudor-inspired architecture.
FEATURES:
• The suggestion of traditional hewn timber frame construction
through the use of chamfered pilasters, ceiling beams, and
lantern rafters.
• The warmth of naturally finished mahogany accentuating a
painted beaded ceiling.
• Delicately mullioned transom sash articulated in German
Antique art glass with soldered copper cames.
• Renaissance’s Signature Revival Series oiled bronze push-pull
window hardware.
• Concealed rolling insect screens with beaded head valences.
• Raised paneling at the knee wall and light shaft, matching
those found elsewhere in the home.
• A venting roof lantern with motorized sash.
• Copper roofing, gutters, spouting, and finial posts.

The 6' Dark Copper Gardenfall with Clear Glass adds a touch of modern elegance to any space, indoors or outdoors. The deep, rich color of the dark copper powdercoat finished aluminum frame provides the perfect accent to the beautiful clear glass center. These center mounted water fountains can be admired from the front or the back in your home, office or outside in your garden. If you choose to use this piece to decorate your office, you can have it customized with your logo. It even features a halogen accent light for evening viewing.
These water fountains arrive fully assembled, requiring only the most basic effort to install. You should have it up and running in less than 30 minutes with no special tools. The health benefits of a fountain, particularly when used indoors, are numerous. Indoor water fountains can help to clean the air or add humidity to dry air. More importantly, they provide a soothing background sound. The gentle rhythm of water falling on smooth rocks can help clear the mind and cleanse the soul.
This water feature can be customized with your logo.

We installied a new flagstone entry and planted a contrasting plant palette. As the plants will grow in, they will make a nice impact on visitors to the home. The blue ceramic fountain creates a welcoming focal point upon arrival. Low voltage FX copper lighting directs you in the evening.
