The theme of this half mile trail through the woods is evident in the fun, creative and all-inclusive obstacles hidden in the natural flow of the land around this amazing family home. The course was created with adults and children, advanced and beginner athletes, competitive and entertaining events all accounted for. Each of the 13 obstacles was designed to be challenging no matter the size, skill or ability of the athlete lucky enough to run the course.
FOCUS
The focus for this family was to create an outdoor adventure that could be an athletic, social and personal outlet for their entire family while maintaining the natural beauty of the landscape and without altering the sweeping views from the home. The large scale of the challenging obstacles is camouflaged within the landscape using the rolling hills and mature trees as a natural curtain in every season. The beauty of the course does not diminish the functional and demanding nature of the obstacles which are designed to focus on multiple strength, agility, and cardio fitness abilities and intensities.
STORAGE
The start of the trail includes a raised training area offering a dedicated space clear from the ground to place bags, mats and other equipment used during the run. A small all-terrain storage cart was provided for use with 6 yoga mats, 3 medicine balls of various weights, rings, sprinting cones, and a large digital timer to record laps.
GROWTH
The course was designed to provide an athletic and fun challenge for children, teens and adults no matter their experience or athletic prowess. This course offers competitive athletes a challenge and budding athletes an opportunity to experience and ignite their passion for physical activity. Initially the concept for the course was focused on the youngest of the family however as the design grew so did the obstacles and now it is a true family experience that will meet their adapting needs for years. Each obstacle is paired with an instructional sign directing the runners in proper use of the obstacle, adaptations for skill levels and tips on form. These signs are all customized for this course and are printed on metal to ensure they last for many years.

Safety is crucial for all physical activity and an obstacle course of this scale presents unique safety concerns. Children should always be supervised when participating in an adventure on the course however additional care was paid to details on the course to ensure everyone has a great time. All of the course obstacles have been created with pressure treated lumber that will withstand the seasonal poundings. All footer pilings that support obstacles have been placed into the ground between 3 to 4 feet (.9 to 1.2 meters) and each piling has 2 to 3 bags of concrete (totaling over 90 bags used throughout the course) ensuring stability of the structure and safety of the participants. Additionally, all obstacle lumber has been given rounded corners and sanded down offering less splintering and more time for everyone to enjoy the course.
This athletic and charismatic family strives to incorporate a healthy active lifestyle into their daily life and this obstacle course offers their family an opportunity to strengthen themselves and host some memorable and active events at their amazing home.

The owners dreamt of an open concept Master bathroom suite. A roman style open shower and wet area. Soft color tones and airy feel for it.
There was a dead space on the adjacent attic that was a perfect addon space for bathroom.
They wanted a large and open shower. A free-standing tub.
The tub was moved into new space and an open wet shower area was added next to it.
Our staff used floor to ceiling large scale marble looking tiles, complimented with mosaic for shower area
By relocating the bathroom and closet door, we have found a perfect place to install linen cabinet and long vanities and counter space for their much-needed daily activities.
The toilet was move into old shower space behind door.
The transformation of bathroom was huge. We delivered their desired bathroom.
The coordination of soft taupe cabinetry with white marble with slight taupe veins and marble counter tops unimaginably has made this master suite gorgeous. Couple hidden medicine cabinets with lights have given them extra space for storage.
building Lab, inc.We used translucent glass, mirrors and windows to invite a deeper look into the space. To balance this complex layering of architectural elements, we opted for repeated geometric forms and an understated material palette.
White walls form a quiet backdrop for the rich teak cabinetry and bold modern art. An 8-foot-long custom concrete countertop with integrated dual sinks anchors the space with its earth tone and sculptural feel. Handmade tiles add to the room’s warmth with their natural color variations and pleasant tactile quality. The floor is herringbone field limestone, and the shower surround is clad with Pratt & Larson parquet ceramic. Custom sliding glass doors with tracks that disappear into the ceiling and a handle carved directly into sandblasted glass allow the material to speak for itself.
Pocket doors separate the master bedroom, master bath, and the dressing area, so that the couple can get ready in the morning with ease. The powder room door opens into the hallway near the stairs.
The homeowners now have a whole new experience of the top floor. Walking from the sitting room to the master bathroom, one transitions from an expansive bay view to an otherworldly nest hidden in the trees. And so it is that a daily activity is elevated to a one-of-a-kind experience.

Paradise Found ConstructionMelissa and Steve purchased our National Award Winning Green Certified Remodeled Home. They had moved to Colorado previously to expand Business opportunities, but found that they missed being near their extended family members and Melissa’s native city and state. They wanted a home in a quiet neighborhood that suited their needs and had been updated to current design trends and amenities. With 2 young children a single-story home appealed to them.
Steve primarily worked from home, using the formal Living Room as his home office which was central to the Kitchen and main living areas. As their children grew, it became increasingly difficult to With 4 children, their daily activities were split between the 1st and second floors, making it difficult to coordinate activities amongst them. Also, with a large extended family close-by, get-togethers were cramped and uncomfortable.
With the added 1st floor living space, they are now able to all comfortably gather together and spend more quality time with their family and friends.

MATHISON | MATHISON ARCHITECTSWatermark Residence was conceived as a “downsizing” project for Owners looking to transition from the home where they raised their family to a simpler lifestyle. The footprint and exterior massing of the single family condo was prescribed, but MMA wove new details into these constraints and was urged by the Owner to completely reinvent the interior experience.
From the exterior, the home sits subtly on a corner lot, referencing the neighborhood in its style, but with a warmth and crispness that speaks also to the interiors.
The primary goal of the project was to provide an open, inviting atmosphere of connected spaces that allowed natural light into all areas of the home. Upon entry, there is an immediate involvement in the daily activities with the living and dining rooms being the focal point, and a more intimate kitchen slightly out of view.
Throughout the home, the idea of privacy and transparency plays an important role in the organization of spaces and materials chosen. More private corridors lead to intimate bedroom spaces and functional laundry and mudrooms. A two-floor, semi-transparent slat wall shields direct visibility from the street, while also providing connection between the entertaining spaces of the home. Combined with the white oak, open staircase, the movement between levels feels intuitive and inviting.
A simple palette of materials, understated in their appearance but detailed in their execution, are threaded throughout the home. Gathering spaces are represented with open slats, grounding brick, white oak, and bright walls. Movement deeper into the house brings refined slat panels with integrated hardware at kitchen millwork, softly painted cabinetry, and warm tones of walnut in furniture elements. The most private spaces of the home further extrude the slat element into fluted panels, painted in deeper colors.

ECHT-ARCHITECTSThe tropical features of the lands surrounding Roberts Bay in Sarasota make you feel like you're in a nature sanctuary. At the edge of bustling pockets of towering trees, there are mangroves for miles, hosting a litany of vibrant flora and fauna.
This home is perched along the edge of the bay, with a front row seat to the hustle and bustle of the daily activities of the wading bird community, with the occasional kayak streaming by.
The front of the home has a series of planters and porch that help terrace the massing up to the elevated floor level.
The main spaces of the home face out the back through wide glass doors, over the pool, terraces and dog lawn.
Intricate exterior architectural millwork and mouldings recall the passive ventilation and simple ornamentation indicative of the British West Indies style architecture.

All footer pilings that support obstacles have been placed into the ground between 3 to 4 feet (.9 to 1.2 meters) and each piling has 2 to 3 bags of concrete (totaling over 90 bags used throughout the course) ensuring stability of the structure and safety of the participants. Additionally, all obstacle lumber has been given rounded corners and sanded down offering less splintering and more time for everyone to enjoy the course.

Design Kitchens & Bath LLCThe existing kitchen was very dark and narrow, so we removed a wall and bulkheads. This family of seven entertains quite frequently so we add two cooktops, two ovens and a microwave convection oven. We addressed the need for seating by adding two islands one for cooking and one for prep and clean up with an addition of a prep sink. The larger island has an end grain cherry butchers block located between the two cook tops. To help speed the daily activity of prep we added pot filler in the back splash. MATHISON | MATHISON ARCHITECTSWatermark Residence was conceived as a “downsizing” project for Owners looking to transition from the home where they raised their family to a simpler lifestyle. The footprint and exterior massing of the single family condo was prescribed, but MMA wove new details into these constraints and was urged by the Owner to completely reinvent the interior experience.
From the exterior, the home sits subtly on a corner lot, referencing the neighborhood in its style, but with a warmth and crispness that speaks also to the interiors.
The primary goal of the project was to provide an open, inviting atmosphere of connected spaces that allowed natural light into all areas of the home. Upon entry, there is an immediate involvement in the daily activities with the living and dining rooms being the focal point, and a more intimate kitchen slightly out of view.
Throughout the home, the idea of privacy and transparency plays an important role in the organization of spaces and materials chosen. More private corridors lead to intimate bedroom spaces and functional laundry and mudrooms. A two-floor, semi-transparent slat wall shields direct visibility from the street, while also providing connection between the entertaining spaces of the home. Combined with the white oak, open staircase, the movement between levels feels intuitive and inviting.
A simple palette of materials, understated in their appearance but detailed in their execution, are threaded throughout the home. Gathering spaces are represented with open slats, grounding brick, white oak, and bright walls. Movement deeper into the house brings refined slat panels with integrated hardware at kitchen millwork, softly painted cabinetry, and warm tones of walnut in furniture elements. The most private spaces of the home further extrude the slat element into fluted panels, painted in deeper colors.
ECHT-ARCHITECTSThe tropical features of the lands surrounding Roberts Bay in Sarasota make you feel like you're in a nature sanctuary. At the edge of bustling pockets of towering trees, there are mangroves for miles, hosting a litany of vibrant flora and fauna.
This home is perched along the edge of the bay, with a front row seat to the hustle and bustle of the daily activities of the wading bird community, with the occasional kayak streaming by.
The front of the home has a series of planters and porch that help terrace the massing up to the elevated floor level.
The main spaces of the home face out the back through wide glass doors, over the pool, terraces and dog lawn.
Intricate exterior architectural millwork and mouldings recall the passive ventilation and simple ornamentation indicative of the British West Indies style architecture.
