This was a corporate condo purchased for private use by out of town clients. We kept the sofas but since both the husband wife and short in stature we replaced all the pillows and added one behind the throw pillows on the sofa to shorten the deep seat. They kept the lamp and the blue/purple ottomans; they are really cute and add a color interest. I purchased the art on the wall and then they told me the original coffee table was too tall. It was, I hated it; rectangle, metal, glass, yuck. So one day I was at a consignment store in Scottsdale and spied this metal and marble square coffee table for a mere $350.00. I told them about it and they said, "we trust your judgement so buy it if you think it is the right one". Needless to say it worked and they were thrilled. I painted all the walls, adjusted window treatments and much much more throughout.

Cesar Rubio Hulburd Design transformed a 1920s French Provincial-style home to accommodate a family of five with guest quarters. The family frequently entertains and loves to cook. This, along with their extensive modern art collection and Scandinavian aesthetic informed the clean, lively palette.

This bedroom and full bathroom are part of an adventuresome project my wife and I embarked upon to create a complete apartment in the basement of our townhouse. We designed a floor plan that creatively and efficiently used all of the 385-square-foot-space, without sacrificing beauty, comfort or function – and all without breaking the bank! To maximize our budget, we did the work ourselves and added everything from thrift store finds to DIY wall art to bring it all together. A partial double closet bar adds a little extra space while still leaving room for longer hanging clothes.
