Sunspace Design, Inc.This contemporary conservatory located in Hamilton, Massachusetts features our solid Sapele mahogany custom glass roof system and Andersen 400 series casement windows and doors.
Our client desired a space that would offer an outdoor feeling alongside unique and luxurious additions such as a corner fireplace and custom accent lighting. The combination of the full glass wall façade and hip roof design provides tremendous light levels during the day, while the fully functional fireplace and warm lighting creates an amazing atmosphere at night. This pairing is truly the best of both worlds and is exactly what our client had envisioned.
Acting as the full service design/build firm, Sunspace Design, Inc. poured the full basement foundation for utilities and added storage. Our experienced craftsmen added an exterior deck for outdoor dining and direct access to the backyard. The new space has eleven operable windows as well as air conditioning and heat to provide year-round comfort. A new set of French doors provides an elegant transition from the existing house while also conveying light to the adjacent rooms. Sunspace Design, Inc. worked closely with the client and Siemasko + Verbridge Architecture in Beverly, Massachusetts to develop, manage and build every aspect of this beautiful project. As a result, the client can now enjoy a warm fire while watching the winter snow fall outside.
The architectural elements of the conservatory are bolstered by our use of high performance glass with excellent light transmittance, solar control, and insulating values. Sunspace Design, Inc. has unlimited design capabilities and uses all in-house craftsmen to manufacture and build its conservatories, orangeries, and sunrooms as well as its custom skylights and roof lanterns. Using solid conventional wall framing along with the best windows and doors from top manufacturers, we can easily blend these spaces with the design elements of each individual home.
For architects and designers we offer an excellent service that enables the architect to develop the concept while we provide the technical drawings to transform the idea to reality. For builders, we can provide the glass portion of a project while they perform all of the traditional construction, just as they would on any project. As craftsmen and builders ourselves, we work with these groups to create seamless transition between their work and ours.

Smarthaus + Wexler/Kollman P.C., Ltd.This custom, high-performance home was designed and built to a LEED for Homes Platinum rating, the highest rating given to homes when certified by the US Green Building Council. The house has been laid out to take maximum advantage of both passive and active solar energy, natural ventilation, low impact and recyclable materials, high efficiency lighting and controls, in a structure that is very simple and economical to build. The envelope of the house is designed to require a minimum amount of energy in order to live and use the home based on the lifestyle of the occupants. The home will have an innovative HVAC system that has been recently developed by engineers from the University of Illinois which uses considerably less energy than a conventional heating and cooling system and provides extremely high indoor air quality utilizing a CERV (conditioned energy recovery ventilation system) combined with a cost effective installation.

JKL Development Inc.This 5687 sf home was a major renovation including significant modifications to exterior and interior structural components, walls and foundations. Included were the addition of several multi slide exterior doors, windows, new patio cover structure with master deck, climate controlled wine room, master bath steam shower, 4 new gas fireplace appliances and the center piece- a cantilever structural steel staircase with custom wood handrail and treads.
A complete demo down to drywall of all areas was performed excluding only the secondary baths, game room and laundry room where only the existing cabinets were kept and refinished. Some of the interior structural and partition walls were removed. All flooring, counter tops, shower walls, shower pans and tubs were removed and replaced.
New cabinets in kitchen and main bar by Mid Continent. All other cabinetry was custom fabricated and some existing cabinets refinished. Counter tops consist of Quartz, granite and marble. Flooring is porcelain tile and marble throughout. Wall surfaces are porcelain tile, natural stacked stone and custom wood throughout. All drywall surfaces are floated to smooth wall finish. Many electrical upgrades including LED recessed can lighting, LED strip lighting under cabinets and ceiling tray lighting throughout.
The front and rear yard was completely re landscaped including 2 gas fire features in the rear and a built in BBQ. The pool tile and plaster was refinished including all new concrete decking.
Braun Building CenterA unique project just finished for homeowners in Maribel. A three car garage and “presentation” room with an indoor wheelchair ramp was added to an existing two-story home to meet the special needs of the residents.
Braun’s residential designers worked with homeowners and Hardrath Improvements to develop a very detailed plan for the project. What resulted was a spacious, 3-stall heated garage with an extra large, wheelchair accessible floor area for safe, easy car loading/unloading. A temperature controlled connecting room with a wheelchair ramp was added between the garage and the house with an extra wide garage entry door, providing room-to-room access without ever having to be outside.
Construction was completed by Hardrath Improvements. Braun Building Center provided the design blueprints, and products including all lumber, sheathing, trusses, GAF - Roofing, CertainTeed vinyl siding, Alliance windows, Waudena Millwork exterior doors, and Larson Storm Doors.

Vintage HomesThis amazing project was the culmination of triumph after triumph in setup, design, and function. The particular requirements of the Owner started during the contract phase forcing us to create a version of the contract used before. We then spent close to 90 days creating detailed specs, and a “research and development” born out of those specifications. Full automation and “walls as straight as steel” were challenges to address, Control 4 and Boise Cascade engineered lumber checked the boxes on those two items. Possibly the to jump was making the inside of clean, straight modern lines compliment the required traditional symmetry balance of the exterior. The architect masterfully made the blend in style, and then the real work began…that is. The final hurdle was completing this masterpiece in 9 months to meet the Owner’s move schedule, entire staff of 10 all played a part in eliminating several months from the schedule. The overall sense of accomplishment on this project was shared throughout the halls of our office.
Solanna Design & DevelopmentThis sauna room pale horizontal wood boards across the walls, ceiling and tiered benches for a cohesive, calming finish. A compact heater, wood bucket and small control panel support the room's function, while subtle recessed lighting and a cool blue accent light add atmosphere. The simple layout maximizes seating within a limited footprint. Natural wood tones give the wellness space a clean, restorative character.
