The owners wanted to take advantage of their views, add more natural light, increase storage, and have the kitchen function more efficiently. From dark and feeling closed-in, it was transformed to open, inviting and a place they enjoy every day. All the wall cabinets were removed and a bank of three tall windows were added for more light and ventilation.
After a new layout was designed, materials and finishes were selected. The first thing that is noticed when you walk into the room is the wall behind the range. The large expanse is very unique, like a work of natural art. When viewed it can look like waves or patches of clouds. The wall is a full slab of Dekton. The color is inspired by the industrial look of oxidized steel, with shades of grey, brown and black with metallic effects.
Mixed woods and stains were used for the cabinets. Storage was maximized, each drawer and cabinet have a function. The island is a perfect landing spot for groceries, meal prep or a buffet. Floating shelves add and open look.
The elegant banquette was custom built for the space. It has a slanted back for comfort and with styled legs it keeps it airy and light. The “L” shape optimizes the space and created a natural conversation spot and view of the water.
The kitchen has French doors that access an expansive deck, perfect for entertaining. The space was designed for this active couple making it a place to entertain and live everyday with joy.

After an unfortunate flood, this bathroom was ripped out taken down to the studs, giving us a completely blank slate to work with. To maximize this fairly compact guest bathroom, we added horizontal shiplap paneling to the walls to expand the space visually. The front of the tub was also wrapped in shiplap for added continuity. Hex tile flooring provides pattern and movement against the white painted shiplap walls. And the soft gray rectangular wall tile in the shower repeats the horizontal effect, all in effort of creating the look of a larger space.

This luxury kitchen remodel in Raleigh, NC reimagined a grand traditional kitchen with a fresh, layered elegance. Our team at Lavish designed the space around two oversized islands in a rich espresso finish, both topped in dramatic taupe quartzite with thick mitered edges — one dedicated to prep, the other to gathering.
Warm cherry-toned cabinetry with glass-front uppers and a stately paneled range hood anchor the perimeter, while a full-height quartzite slab backsplash, brushed brass faucets and pot filler, gold lantern pendants, rope-wrapped counter stools, and tumbled travertine flooring bring in texture and shine. The kitchen flows into a stone-fireplace keeping room, making it a true hub for entertaining.
Just off the kitchen, the formal dining room design is one of the most memorable rooms in the home. A stained wood plank ceiling crowns hand-painted cloud-effect walls, and a sculptural branch-and-crystal chandelier hangs above the walnut dining table, framed by floral drapery, an arched navy display cabinet, and views of the pool and gardens beyond.
As a full-service interior design firm in Raleigh, NC, Lavish guided this kitchen remodeling and dining room project from cabinetry, stone selection, and lighting design through drapery, furnishings, and final styling — creating a luxury home interior that feels both grand and genuinely livable.

Originally built in 1970, this later-model Eichler—designed by architect Claude Oakland—features a distinctive “Model 14” roofline with a clipped gable, a subtle nod to the charm of English thatch-roof cottages.
Acquired from the original owner, the home remained in untouched, original condition—offering a rare opportunity for restoration, but also presenting an urgent need for updates.
Our approach was grounded in respect for Oakland’s original design intent, while thoughtfully incorporating essential upgrades to meet modern building codes and today’s lifestyle expectations.
Eichler homes were originally built using modest, cost-effective materials to make modern architecture accessible to the growing mid-century middle class. While iconic, elements like laminate countertops, particle board cabinetry, and vinyl composition tile flooring haven’t stood the test of time. We carefully replaced these with more durable, high-quality alternatives—granite countertops, maple-ply cabinets, and luxury vinyl tile—ensuring the home remains true to its spirit while standing strong for decades to come.
