This renovation in Manhattan placed us within a block of Central Park, delivering a complete overhaul of an ideally-located 1800-square-foot condo. The project was for a young family, whose newly-purchased property is in a post-war building and was in sponsor-condition when we arrived, warranting quite a bit of love. By delivering a complete interior renovation of the apartment, including two bathrooms, kitchen, floors, lighting, and custom millwork, we provided a modern, highly-functional space the family can proudly call home for years to come.
PARENTS NEED SPACE
Storage was the most important factor in this renovation. With a small child ready to rumble at all hours, our clients knew they were going to have all kinds of stuff taking over their space. At the same time, they wanted to be able to have guests come in and not see clutter. Our solution was neatly designed opportunities for storage nestled throughout the apartment.
To start, we created a custom entertainment unit, offering storage below, with open shelves above. Built-in under the living room window is banquette seating with significant storage beneath. Not only does the dual-purpose nook offer areas to store toys galore, the cozy spot offers beautiful windows with views of the shimmering skyline and rooftop gardens, providing practical peace of mind. Every inch of this renovation was designed with intention, so no space is wasted.
UNIQUE KITCHEN DESIGN
There are various custom elements that make this particular NYC kitchen renovation stand-out. While the majority of the apartment has herringbone wood flooring, determination was made that having herringbone in the kitchen would have been way too busy. So, we went with straight planks for the kitchen, blended from the living room with a custom wood flooring design. The straight planks not only look better, they were most cost-effective. Additionally, there’s wood paneling lining the kitchen, accenting the off-white and chestnut cabinets with a touch of luxe. Finally, the quartz backsplash and countertop offer a nice and seamless touch to the overall modern design.
FORWARD-THINKING DESIGN FOR CHILDREN
Our goal with the kid’s bedroom design was to offer a multi-purpose space the child could enjoy and use as needs change over the years. Beyond the playful wallpaper, we provided plenty of timeless built-ins that can be used to store diapers and books early on, while also including a desk space for homework in later years (hopefully).
COMPLIMENTARY BATHROOMS
When we renovated the two bathrooms in this Manhattan apartment, our goal was to create similar but distinct designs between the two spaces, that still felt unique in their own right and blended with the rest of the home. The wood vanities incorporate the heavy wood tones from other rooms, while the strong accent tiles on the walls and big, bold marble floor tiling create elegant foundations for each space.
SOME HIGHLIGHTS
- Natural light drop ceilings offer nice recessed lighting throughout the entire apartment
- New doors & new hardware throughout, w/crystal doorknobs in various areas
- Built-in bar to accommodate guests, complete with lights under cabinet and distressed mirrored backsplash
- Plaster crown molding offering a very clean and classic touch throughout the transitional space

THE SETUP
Originally an empty front living room, this space offered a blank canvas for transformation. Alicia’s client — a financial wealth management professional facing a career shift towards more home-based work — was excited to make it her new office. Capitalizing on the space’s abundant natural light, perfect for on-camera meetings, Alicia helped convert the area into a primary workspace.
Design Objectives:
- Create a functional and professional home office
Cultivate an aesthetic that is both comfortable and feminine
- Optimize the office for the space’s ideal lighting and provide an appealing background for virtual meetings
Design Challenges:
- Transforming a large, undefined space into a structured, functional office
- Selecting a color palette that enhances focus and professionalism, balanced with a feminine touch
- Strategically placing the desk to maximize functionality and aesthetics within the large area
Incorporating solutions for effective real-time stock trade tracking and analog task management
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design Solutions:
Workspace Configuration: Centered the desk to utilize indirect light, ideal for video calls, while providing a commanding view of the office, the outdoors and the entrance. A floor-installed power outlet under the desk ensures a clean, cord-free setup.
Aesthetic and Palette: Anchored by a striking wallpaper chosen by the client, Alicia developed a soft, neutral color scheme that complements the room’s black window frames and maintains a feminine touch.
Digital Integration: Included a screen dedicated to monitoring daily stock trends, positioned for easy viewing. The energy efficient monitor doubles as artwork when not in use, seamlessly blending functionality with style.
Organizational Features: Implemented dual large bulletin boards for task and project tracking, integrating them aesthetically with custom cabinetry and interesting, yet subdued, fabric backing.
Our client is thrilled with her new home office, which not only meets her professional needs but also adds comfort and style to her daily work routine. The space is highly functional for both solo work and client appointments, providing a perfect blend of business professionalism and personal comfort. It embodies the essence of a #girlboss, combining a professional atmosphere with feminine elegance, making every workday enjoyable and productive.

Our client uses this bedroom as a guest room but they also keep office supplies such as their printer, internet tower, and important paperwork in this room. To accommodate the functionality of the room, we found the perfect nightstand which also serves as a filing cabinet. A matching bookshelf now displays special keepsakes and an updated printer stand provides extra storage for office supplies.
Wait until you hear this… the wood paneling on the walls were installed in the 80s! ? We removed the paneling on the wall with the window and replaced the dark wood blinds with some new custom white faux wood blinds. We kept the paneling on the other wall because it created a subtle shiplap effect once painted.
The client requested a tan paint with blue accents. We selected Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams and found a lovely reversible blue quilt from Pottery Barn (still waiting on the shams which are back ordered) as well as a light blue lamp from Wayfair.
Lastly, we showcased some special art work for the client that was painted by their family member.
What do you think of the final result?! We are loving the calm and relaxing vibe of this room refresh. Swipe to see before photos and some different angles of the room.

Custom chair cushions, stool cushion, and pillows add a special touch. The embroidered shell fabric for the pillows was just perfect with the linen of the cushions. The effect is soothing and beachy chic.
My client requested a serene, cozy, and beachy hone office where she could feel comfortable and inspired when working from home. Cool and coastal colors of sea glass, blue, aqua, sand, and ivory unfold a serene yet interesting space. With painted wood and rattan furniture, the feeling is that you are in a tropical retreat. We created spaces for working at a desk with practicalities like a filing cabinet, yet also a place to lounge while reading, conversing, and even working on the lap top. This small guest room became an inspiring place for my client to be productive and do her thing in style!

This original 90’s home was in dire need of a major refresh. The kitchen was totally reimagined and designed to incorporate all of the clients needs from and oversized panel ready Sub Zero, spacious island with prep sink and wine storage, floor to ceiling pantry, endless drawer space, and a marble wall with floating brushed brass shelves with integrated lighting.
The powder room cleverly utilized leftover marble from the kitchen to create a custom floating vanity for the powder to great effect. The satin brass wall mounted faucet and patterned wallpaper worked out perfectly.
The ensuite was enlarged and totally reinvented. From floor to ceiling book matched Statuario slabs of Laminam, polished nickel hardware, oversized soaker tub, integrated LED mirror, floating shower bench, linear drain, and frameless glass partitions this ensuite spared no luxury.
The all new walk-in closet boasts over 100 lineal feet of floor to ceiling storage that is well illuminated and laid out to include a make-up table, luggage storage, 3-way angled mirror, twin islands with drawer storage, shoe and boot shelves for easy access, accessory storage compartments and built-in laundry hampers.
