This office was created for the Designer Showhouse, and our vision was to represent female empowerment. We wanted the office to reflect the life of a vibrant and empowered woman. Someone that’s busy, on the go, well-traveled, and full of energy. The space also reflected other aspects of this woman’s role as the head of a family and the rock that provides calm, peace, and comfort to everyone around her. We showcased these qualities with decor like the built-in library – busy, chaotic yet organized; the tone and color of the wallpaper; and the furniture we chose. The bench by the window is part of our SORELLA Furniture line, which is also the result of female leadership and empowerment. The result is a calm, harmonious, and peaceful design language. --- Project designed by Montecito interior designer Margarita Bravo. This chic modern guest house was designed for the Altadena Showcase. In this space you will see the kitchen, living room and guest bedroom. A bright vanity adds character and a good pop accent. Having one main accent color and adding greenery brings the space to life. The copper fixtures add a light playfulness to the space. After a long day of work she loves to have friends over & sip champagne and wine in this open concept space, while still being able to see her children. In this space, you will also see the living room, the kitchen, and the dining room. The fireplace was added to give the room a grand gesture for such a large space. Open concept to maximize functional use of space for residents and caregivers. Universal design elements to maximize independence and remove barriers in areas of high use by residents with mixed abilities, e.g. pedestal table accommodates wheel chairs and is a stable design, unique framing and drywall removes all sharp corners and enables mobility with walkers and wheelchairs, vinyl flooring with sealed seams for an easy rolling surface for walkers and wheelchairs, ductless mini-splits with independent controls empowers control of temperature in each room. Discrete staff work area in kitchen with locking cabinetry for privacy of medical records and storage of medications. Light, bright, happy and safe with views of the outside neighborhood. Designed for independence, mobility and safety for residents with developmental disabilities living in a house with extra care provided.
