Patio in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes. Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects. Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. We worked through selections intentionally, layering in bold contrast, natural woods, and sculptural statement pieces, while prioritizing performance materials, pet-friendly durability, and timeless foundational elements. By using the home as a lived-in showroom, we were able to validate what truly performs beautifully, refine our vendor relationships, and confidently carry those proven selections into future client designs. Sometimes the best solution isn't the one you originally planned. This homeowner wanted to add an island and stacked cabinets to gain more storage in her small kitchen. After months of waiting for another contractor to provide a quote, she turned to a friend for a recommendation—and that's how she found Kitchen Solvers. After evaluating the space, we recommended a different approach that would solve more of her challenges while maximizing her investment. We installed new 42" upper cabinets for additional storage, refaced the base cabinets to match, created a custom refrigerator surround, and added a beautiful wood island that brings warmth and character to the space. To complete the transformation, we paired Matterhorn Dolomite countertops with the existing mosaic backsplash, saving the homeowner money by incorporating elements she already had. We also installed a new flat-top range, added roll-out trays for improved organization, and finished the space with floating shelves around the window for a warm, custom touch. During the design process it grew to having a living space above the studio, which grew to having a small house attached to the studio forming a compound. At this point it became clear to the client; the project was outgrowing the neighborhood. After re-evaluating the project, the live / work compound is currently sited in a natural protected nest with post card views of Mount Sopris & the Roaring Fork Valley. The courtyard compound consist of the central south facing piece being the studio flanked by a simple 2500 sq ft 2 bedroom, 2 story house one the west side, and a multi purpose guest wing /studio on the east side. The evolution of this compound came to include the desire to have the building blend into the surrounding landscape, and at the same time become the backdrop to create and display his sculpture. “Jess has been our architect on several projects over the past ten years. Bainbridge Island Waterfront Estate

The Owners of this luxurious waterfront estate acquired this property after the previous owners defaulted on their loan and stopped construction. We were initially engaged to inspect and assess the structural integrity of the building shell and work with a geo-technical engineer to evaluate the condition of the site’s soil. Tests determined that the site’s previous use as a sawmill and Native American fishing ground rendered the soil unfit for construction activity. In response to the lack of soil bearing capacity, our solution employs expansive footings supported by hundreds of piles throughout the entire project site. After completing our inspection of the structure, we were engaged to completely redesigned this home to accommodate our clients’ growing family and extensive art collection. Stylistically, this highly detailed structure borrows from the grand bungalows of the Greene brothers in Pasadena, California while employing sophisticated climate, lighting, AV and security systems. To ensure our clients’ art collection was properly displayed and protected, we worked with specialists from the Seattle Art Museum to develop appropriate lighting and climate control systems. Finally, we engaged the best craftsman we know – general contractor, interior designer, landscape architect, cabinet maker, blacksmith, custom woodworker and stone mason – to execute what ultimately became our clients’ very personal and unique statement for their home.

When the family first reached out to Armada Design & Build, they were excited but apprehensive. They had just purchased a sprawling 2-acre lot in the peaceful enclave of Packwood, WA, envisioning their forever home. The lot, though rich with potential, was a blank canvas—a space once occupied by a dilapidated structure, now waiting to be transformed into a custom-built sanctuary. Turning this vacant lot into a warm, inviting home seemed daunting to them, but to us, it was an opportunity to create something truly special. As a one-stop design and build firm, we knew this project was about more than construction—it was about understanding their dreams and translating them into a home blending contemporary charm with rustic elegance. Our journey began with in-depth discussions to explore their lifestyle, preferences, and vision. They wanted a modern, comfortable, and functional home full of character. With these insights, we began sketching a design that would rise from the blank slate. The process started with site evaluations and architectural planning, considering the natural landscape, privacy needs, and creating a connection with the surroundings. They had many ideas but needed guidance to bring them to life. Our expertise helped them navigate every decision, from layout to details, ensuring each choice aligned with their vision. The kitchen, the heart of the home, was designed for both style and functionality. Custom flat-panel glossy white cabinets provided ample storage with pull-out shelves for easy organization. MSI Quartz countertops became a striking focal point, while the Kraus Single Basin Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink and Hansgrohe Talis S² Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet added both style and practicality. Complementary Benjamin Moore paint harmonized the space with the stainless steel appliances. Elegant lighting fixtures, including a West Elm Mobile Chandelier and an Everly Quinn 8-Light Crystal Sputnik Sphere Chandelier, brought a sophisticated flair, perfect for daily living and entertaining. Before breaking ground, we meticulously planned every aspect, ensuring the materials and brands would meet aesthetic desires and withstand the test of time. Top-of-the-line appliances, such as a KitchenAid gas range and fully integrated dishwasher, ensured the kitchen was both beautiful and functional. Every detail extended to the rest of the home. The laundry room combined practicality with style, featuring Architectural Surfaces tiles, Bravada Hardwood flooring, and sleek KES hardware. In the master bathroom, we created a serene retreat with Green Needle Laminated panels, Kohler fixtures, and United Tile Fez by WOW tiles, transforming it into a luxurious sanctuary. Consistent Bravada Hardwood flooring throughout the home added cohesiveness, while thoughtful touches like NearMoon fixtures enhanced the spa-like ambiance. The exterior was equally well-planned. Benjamin Moore paint highlighted architectural features, and custom doors and Milgard Windows welcomed natural light while connecting the indoors to the surrounding beauty. Outdoor spaces were designed as extensions of the home, featuring a hot tub, BBQ area, and EV charging station. Throughout the process, we worked hand-in-hand with the family, ensuring every detail aligned with their vision. The result was a stunning custom home that exceeded expectations—a testament to quality, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction. What began as a blank canvas became a beautiful, warm home they can proudly call their own.
