Living Room in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes.
Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects.
Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. We worked through selections intentionally, layering in bold contrast, natural woods, and sculptural statement pieces, while prioritizing performance materials, pet-friendly durability, and timeless foundational elements. By using the home as a lived-in showroom, we were able to validate what truly performs beautifully, refine our vendor relationships, and confidently carry those proven selections into future client designs.

Owner Occupied Homes - DIY Home Owner Checklist - ReDesign
What to expect: During the consultation, there will be a thorough walk-through. The owner should be present for this appointment. A detailed list of recommendations will be made for each space in the home, as well as for the exterior. Photographs and measurements will be taken if needed. If time allows, simple changes might be made like moving small furniture, rearranging a mantle, and we will evaluate items that the homeowner has that can be used for staging. The home owner will be left with a detailed to-do list. If the home owner needs help tackling the checklist, House Candy Home Staging is available by the hour to assist.
After the initial Home Staging Consultation is complete, House Candy Home Staging is happy to take on many of the recommended tasks like design restyling, decluttering, rearranging, styling mantles/bookcases, shopping for bedding, accessories, etc.

Winter is always tough on your home. This past winter was no picnic with the snow and cold. By the time spring (really) arrives, your chimney has put up with months of freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and the constant freeze-thaw cycle that quietly does damage you can't always see from the outside. That's why a spring chimney inspection isn't just a good idea, it’s essential to have your chimney checked before storm season begins. Here’s why:
Water Is Your Chimney's Worst Enemy
Here's something that most homeowners don’t know: chimney leaks cause more damage to masonry chimneys than fire does. Think about that a moment. While everyone worries about creosote and chimney fires — and rightfully so — water is silently doing just as much, if not more, damage.
Unlike the rest of your home, which is sheltered by your roof and eaves, your chimney stands fully exposed above the roofline. It takes on rain, wind, snow, and every freeze-thaw cycle winter throws at it, all while absorbing moisture into its porous masonry materials. That water expands and contracts, causing cracks, structural stress, and integrity loss that accumulates over time. The worst part? Chimney leaks are often subtle and slow-moving. By the time you notice water damage inside your home, the problem has usually become more serious, and expensive.
What a Spring Inspection Actually Catches
A professional spring chimney inspection, such as Superior Chimney’s, goes well beyond a quick visual check. A CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep technician will evaluate your entire system — inside and out — looking for the most common sources of chimney leaks and damage, including cracked chimney crowns, deteriorated brick and mortar joints, damaged or missing chimney caps, faulty chimney flashing and roof leaks, chimney slab gaps, and flue gas condensation from improperly sized chimney liners.
Any one of these issues left without a proper inspection, heads into spring storm season is an open invitation for water damage. And as Superior Chimney has discussed, masonry water damage is a progressive problem — the longer it goes unrepaired, the costlier the fix becomes.
What You Can Do Right Now
The good news is that most chimney water damage is preventable. The key steps are:
• have a professional-grade chimney cap installed if you don't already have one
• repair or replace a damaged chimney crown
• address any deteriorated brick and mortar
• fix leaky flashing and
• consider having your chimney professionally waterproofed. Waterproofing alone can save you significantly on future repair costs.
What’s Next?
Superior Chimney always includes a free 14-Point Certified Written Inspection with photo documentation via email with every chimney sweep. This helps you to know exactly what condition your chimney is in and what, if anything, needs attention.
Don't wait, have your chimney checked before storm season begins to reveal a problem that's been building all winter.

The original idea was to update the tile floor and the tub. That’s it.
A further discussion of wants and needs revealed intentions for an eventual larger shower and an improved vanity storage. It made sense to map out the possibilities and design our update with potential next steps in mind. The process was exciting, ultimately leading to the decision to do a full primary bath remodel.
Design Objectives:
-Maintain existing locations for all major bathroom functions
-Make the shower larger and more open
-Use luxurious materials throughout
-Improve vanity storage and define accessories for specific items
-Incorporate luxury shower fixtures
-Include the latest technology
Design Challenges
-Enlarging the shower in a typical rectangular shape would block the view and light from the alcove windows behind the tub
-Logical placement of the built-in shower caddy and all shower components in accordance with how and where they were to be used
-Keeping the long, back wall free from any shower modules to maintain the decorative tile design
-Combining the owner’s existing smart home system with a comprehensive shower system
-Planning cabinetry for hidden storage and use for various small appliances and make-up
-Integrating expensive shower wall tile with less expensive wall tile for aesthetic and budget purposes
-Incorporating special design features to balance the highly decorative shower tile
Design solutions:
-A clipped corner was planned for the shower bench seat – this allowed for a larger glass wall. The glass wall at the angled bench also brought more natural light into the shower
-Thoughtful shower space design prevented the crowding of features – the shower caddy and handheld shower head were placed on the full-height wall by the shower bench, the regular shower head and body sprays remained on the opposite wall, and the rain head was placed in the center of the shower
-A multi-port DTV system was installed, providing control of all shower components, including chromotherapy and music inside and outside the shower
-The lavish water-jet stone and glass decorative tile was paired with a less-expensive glass tile found in the mosaic
-Pull-out grooming organizers and electrical docking stations were incorporated into the cabinetry
Additional storage was created in the lower corner cabinet
The homeowners are thrilled with their new primary bathroom. Clear goals and carefully evaluated materials informed a fun and functional design that is both thoughtful and sumptuous!

THE SETUP
This remodeling project transformed a catchall room into a cinema-style theater designed for family entertainment and relaxation. The original space, which housed a small TV, older furniture, and various children’s toys, was reimagined to create a sophisticated, adult-friendly home theater with ample seating and modern amenities.
Design Objectives:
Create a Dark Theater Space: Ensure the room mimics a traditional movie theater environment.
Provide Comfortable Theater Seating: Include enough seating for the family and guests.
Integrate a Dry Bar Area: Include a space for snacks and drinks.
Optimize Space Utilization: Maintain an open area for additional activities.
Design Challenges:
Natural light: The room was too bright for a theater setting.
Seating: Accommodating six theater seats without obstructing views.
Lighting: Ensuring the lighting does not interfere with the viewing experience.
AV: Finding a clutter-free solution for AV equipment.
Dry Bar: Incorporating a dry bar area without overcrowding the space.
Viewing: Ensuring the TV placement allows for comfortable, optimized viewing.
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design Solutions:
Natural Light Control: Installed blackout remote shades on the back window and painted the walls dark charcoal to reduce natural light infiltration.
Seating Arrangement: Built a second level for the back row of seating to ensure unobstructed views for all movie watchers.
Lighting Design: Installed sconces on either side of the window that shine from the sides (to avoid interfering with the viewing experience).
AV Equipment Storage: Utilized existing recess areas with custom shelves matching the cabinetry and concealed cables using a PVC pipe system.
Dry Bar Integration: Created a dry bar area on the back wall with a refrigerator, candy storage, and a small counter space for a popcorn machine and ice maker, with locked drawers to prevent unsupervised access.
Optimal Viewing Distance: Evaluated multiple floor plans and placed the TV on the most suitable wall to ensure optimal viewing and comfortable reclined seating.
Final Thoughts:
The completed home theater has been a resounding success, providing a versatile space for the entire family. The thoughtful design and meticulous attention to detail have created a functional and enjoyable home theater that meets diverse needs, from watching movies and playing video games to relaxing and reading. The areas to the sides of the theater seats can accommodate spillover seating or activity zones. The area housing the AV equipment also includes extra shelves for storing snuggle-grade movie viewing blankets. This theater space has become a favorite hangout spot, offering comfort and entertainment for everyone.
This view shows the dual level theater seating, bean bags, open AV shelving on the right to tuck the cables which our installers ran behind the TV with PVC piping.

#TipTuesday: With spring right around the corner and mild SWFL winter temperatures just right, now is the perfect time to plan a day (or two) to organize and discard the clutter from your garage. Once you’re ready to get started, empty all contents of your garage and then start evaluating what is worth keeping. Toss, recycle, or donate all of the junk that has overstayed its welcome.
Once you’ve eliminated the unnecessary clutter, group the items you’re keeping together in order to stay organized and get a better understanding of how much storage space you actually require.
We can inventory your belongings and customize a space for everything! Consult with one of our designers for more helpful tips and schedule a FREE design consultation today.

The client, a sculpture artist, and his wife came to J.P.A. only wanting a studio next to their home. During the design process it grew to having a living space above the studio, which grew to having a small house attached to the studio forming a compound. At this point it became clear to the client; the project was outgrowing the neighborhood. After re-evaluating the project, the live / work compound is currently sited in a natural protected nest with post card views of Mount Sopris & the Roaring Fork Valley. The courtyard compound consist of the central south facing piece being the studio flanked by a simple 2500 sq ft 2 bedroom, 2 story house one the west side, and a multi purpose guest wing /studio on the east side. The evolution of this compound came to include the desire to have the building blend into the surrounding landscape, and at the same time become the backdrop to create and display his sculpture.

Sometimes the best solution isn't the one you originally planned.
This homeowner wanted to add an island and stacked cabinets to gain more storage in her small kitchen. After months of waiting for another contractor to provide a quote, she turned to a friend for a recommendation—and that's how she found Kitchen Solvers.
After evaluating the space, we recommended a different approach that would solve more of her challenges while maximizing her investment. We installed new 42" upper cabinets for additional storage, refaced the base cabinets to match, created a custom refrigerator surround, and added a beautiful wood island that brings warmth and character to the space.
To complete the transformation, we paired Matterhorn Dolomite countertops with the existing mosaic backsplash, saving the homeowner money by incorporating elements she already had. We also installed a new flat-top range, added roll-out trays for improved organization, and finished the space with floating shelves around the window for a warm, custom touch.
The result is a kitchen that feels larger, functions better, and has become a space she loves to cook, gather, and entertain in. Best of all, the entire transformation was completed in just a few weeks!

This luxury transitional residence was visualized to help the client evaluate and finalize the exterior material palette and landscape design before construction. The project focused on exploring various combinations of finishes, allowing the client to compare different design directions and understand how each choice would influence the overall character of the home.
Throughout the design process, multiple options were tested for the roofing materials, exterior wall finishes, and window trims. These visualizations provided a clear representation of the subtle differences in texture, color, and architectural expression, helping the client make confident design decisions.
The version presented here is the final selected scheme, combining timeless materials with refined detailing to create a sophisticated and elegant appearance that perfectly complements the home's transitional architecture.
The project was modeled in SketchUp and rendered using D5 Render, delivering high-quality visuals that streamlined the material selection process and brought the design vision to life.

Even though it is one of the smallest rooms in the house, having a high-quality bathroom shouldn't be an afterthought; this remodel is one of the most worthwhile home investments you can make. It might not be cheap, but adding updates — like a new bathtub, walk-in shower and double sinks — will increase the overall value, quality and comfort of your home. When you're ready to start the renovation process, it is important to consider popular trends as well as your own family's needs. Evaluate how much storage you’ll need, and how it will affect the overall feel of the space. With a creative use of materials, bathrooms can be both stylish and functional.
