Paula Truchon of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Frederick, MD designed a primary bathroom featuring Ultracraft Cabinetry’s Plantation door style with 5-piece drawer front in Red Birch with a Natural Low Sheen finish. Selections for bathroom include MSI Q Calacatta Valentin with Polished finish vanity countertops, Jeffery Alexander hardware, Kohler sink, Moen faucet and Kichler lighting. The client expressed their immense satisfaction. “From the initial planning stage, Paula's insights on cabinetry, lighting, and overall design resonated perfectly with my taste in furnishings. Walking through my home to the bathroom, she was able to pick up my style. The project was painless. Everything was well orchestrated and the pieces just fell into place. The crew in charge of demo and installation worked quickly and fastidiously, protecting floors and leaving the site clean and neat each day. Scott's consistent oversight and collaboration with Paula made the project progress smoothly. Despite my initial concerns of a prolonged demo and tedious installation, Reico's team delivered a quick and flawless job.” Added the client, “This space is truly gorgeous and has exceeded my expectations. It was a pleasure to deal with Reico and their team. Paula, Lisa, Scott and all the technicians charged with demo and installation. Thank you for allowing me to share this beautiful bathroom!” Photo courtesy of BTW Images.

Architect: Geoff Chick & Associates Builder: Chris Clark Construction Our company supplied all exterior windows and doors by Weather Shield, E. F. San Juan custom Invincia impact doors, exterior trim, Ipe decking, interior doors, and interior trim. The main challenge was taking the design vision of the homeowner and the interior design team, Marianne Temple and Robyn Prince, and presenting solutions where our scope of work was concerned. The owners had expressed a desire to have very large custom sliding barn doors to completely cover some tall cased openings in the main first-floor hallway. We had several job-site meetings with contractor Chris Clark, the owners, and the design team to come up with the final design for the interior millwork. We designed and built massive barn doors made of select and pecky cypress for the first-floor entry hallway, much to the homeowner’s delight. They have described the doors as large works of art. The home also featured extensive use of solid wood paneling on the walls and ceilings to provide warmth to the interiors. It was a joy to work with such talented designers and builders and to help the owner's vision come alive. This was this owner’s second home in WaterColor to be completed using E. F. San Juan products. --- Photography by Colleen Duffley, courtesy of Geoff Chick & Associates

Wet bar - transitional single-wall dark wood floor and brown floor wet bar idea in Dallas with shaker cabinets, black cabinets, black backsplash, subway tile backsplash and gray countertops

If you haven’t heard the term “aging in place” already, you’re going to hear it more and more in the next ten years. The term as emerged as more and more adults expressed their desire to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. Rather than moving into a community built around increased accessibility needs, home owners are looking to the kitchen and bath remodeling industry to innovate the spaces in their home where they perform the most important tasks. As most long-time home owners realize, the need for accessibility and safety first presents itself in the bathroom. If balance is becoming an issue for a homeowner, the first concern that tends to arise is an exponentially increased fall-risk in the bathroom. Each year, one-third of individuals report a fall, and two thirds of those who fall will fall again in the next six months. Finally, falls are the leading cause of death from injury for people over 65. Individuals coping with injury, recovering from surgery, arthritis and other similar health issues are at an even higher risk of falling. In other words, every day, more and more people are finding the act of bathing or showering difficult, worrisome or even painful! For those seeking to age in place, this is where acrylic tub-to-shower conversions, like Reborn Cabinets Bath Solutions, are incredibly helpful, and can dramatically improve a person’s quality of life. Highly customizable to meet anyone’s daily bathing needs, acrylic tub-to-shower conversions give home owners the option to add benches, safety rails, and even the ability to install a barrier-free design—easy entry for those who require wheelchairs or walkers. But the aging in place-crowd isn’t simply looking for strictly functional solutions to their daily routine. Since these innovations are changing their already-existing bathroom, there is a need to move these accessible spaces beyond function and keep them stylish. Again, aging in place is all about keeping your house a home—not a “facility.” Reborn Bath Solutions is a versatile product, allowing home-owners to choose from a great selection of colors and a wide array of fixtures. Sure, the “bathroom of your dreams” may look a little different these days, but you deserve it! Give us a call, and we’ll help you stay in your home and keep your daily sense of confidence!

Jen Denham of Reico Kitchen and Bath in White Plains, MD collaborated with Steve Bowling to create a coastal-style inspired transitional kitchen remodel featuring Merillat cabinetry. The perimeter cabinets are Merillat Classic in the Tolani 5-piece door style in the Cotton finish, paired with nook cabinets in Merillat Masterpiece in the Montresano door style in the Serenity Evercore finish. The kitchen countertop is MSI Q Calacatta Miraggio Gold quartz with a quarter inch Bevel Edge. The client expressed their gratitude saying, “There isn’t one thing I would go back and do differently. I was able to work with the Reico sales team and make significant improvements to the functionality, layout and appearance of the space. We were able to turn a kitchen closet into a coffee nook, remove an outdated island and relocate the refrigerator area to improve the overall functionality of the kitchen.” “Reico gave us great suggestions when we were unsure about something and worked quickly to resolve any concerns or issues. We made some minor tweaks along the way and Reico worked with us consistently to modify any changes. Overall, the Reico team is awesome, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks so much for giving us a great kitchen!” According to Jen, the client was really professional and open to ideas. “The condo has a great view of the water, so they wanted to incorporate a light and bright theme with a bit of color. After the kitchen came together, we change the floating shelves from white painted finish to a darker stain. This created a wonderful contrast to the wall cabinets and helped bring in some natural colors of their new floor.” “All and all, the client was happy with the result and ended up with a beautiful kitchen, a huge transformation from the closed in space from before.” Photos courtesy of BTW Images.
