This condo had an incredible view from Lake Shore Drive and we really wanted to keep the view. We used the Hunter Douglas Designer Screen Roller Shades to cover the windows. This product allowed our clients to always keep their view of the lake but reduce the heat and ultra violet rays that can fade the floor and furniture. We used the new square fabric wrapped cassette for a clean modern look across the top. We did a soft gray screen to blend with the decor and metal casings on the windows. This color of screen really became a nice backdrop to the room so the lake view was still the focal point.

Using the Client's dining table and chairs, the rest of the room underwent a transformation. Soft tones of blue, used throughout the first floor of the home, blend with grays and creamy white in the hand printed grass cloth wallpaper by Scalamandre. Linen drapery panels are embellished with a wide suede banding from Samuel and Sons. A Sunbrella fabric is used on the window seat cushions to avoid fading, and throw pillows matching the wallpaper and drapery are the finishing touch.

This beautifully designed outdoor wicker daybed provides an oasis of comfort where you can easily snooze away a summer's day. Our “challenge” facing these empty nesters was what to do with that one last lonely bedroom once the kids had left the nest. Actually not so much of a challenge as this client knew exactly what she wanted for her growing collection of new and vintage handbags and shoes! Carpeting was removed and wood floors were installed to minimize dust. We added a UV film to the windows as an initial layer of protection against fading, then the Hermes fabric “Equateur Imprime” for the window treatments. (A hint of what is being collected in this space). Our goal was to utilize every inch of this space. Our floor to ceiling cabinetry maximized storage on two walls while on the third wall we removed two doors of a closet and added mirrored doors with drawers beneath to match the cabinetry. This built-in maximized space for shoes with roll out shelving while allowing for a chandelier to be centered perfectly above.

The contemporary design of the Vela sectional sofa is almost unlimited in the shapes and sizes it can form. The sections include left or right arm, corner, center, left or right arm chaise, center chaise with no arms and an ottoman. The left/right arm and center section are available in a larger size. This stunning design enhanced the arched cathedral ceiling of this castle style formal dining room incorporating multiple fabrics including the client’s existing diamond pin tuck panels that she had purchased initially when moving into her new home. Our challenge was creating a design that allowed us to use the panels that were too short to work in the overall treatment and using fabrics that would look as if the client’s panels were an integral part of the design and not something we had to use . In a time when our client’s are more conscious of not wasting money, we are called upon to reuse, repurpose items that they may already have. We used layering of fabrics to achieve a luxurious layered look in our drapes combining the client’s diamond pin tuck, the beautiful flocked medallion faux silk and a scrumptious silk velvet in vintage brown trimmed in an eye catching drop crystal and ball fringe with a coordinating small drop crystal trim between layers. The empire swags in the flocked face fabric were banded with the velvet and trimmed with the crystal and ball trim. The straight line of the French doors were camouflaged to reflect the beautiful cathedral ceiling. We mounted the swags on blocks for a softly arching design complementing the ceiling. All the fabrics were extremely stain resistant and would not fade in the sunlight. The client was thrilled with the outcome and very pleased that her initial selection of panels were a part of the final design.
