Featured here are pictures of our recently completed commercial project in Edmond. The project involved the removal of over 500 cubic yards of native soil, rock and clay; to make a cut for an enormous retaining wall that we built with Pavestone Company gravity block, and for site prep to accommodate the pad needed for the store. City code required us to install a rail at the top of the wall for safety because of its height. Nearly 50 native trees and 150 shrubs from the local Total Environment Wholesale Nursery set this project in a fairly natural setting as well as a state of the art irrigation system to have adequate water to maintain the health of the plants and Canadian Valley Sod Farm turf installed. The store has had a record breaking launch and will prove to be a welcomed asset to the I-35 corridor. It was a pleasure working with the team from Whataburger and the attentive engineers from the City of Edmond.

With adjacent neighbors within a fairly dense section of Paradise Valley, Arizona, C.P. Drewett sought to provide a tranquil retreat for a new-to-the-Valley surgeon and his family who were seeking the modernism they loved though had never lived in. With a goal of consuming all possible site lines and views while maintaining autonomy, a portion of the house — including the entry, office, and master bedroom wing — is subterranean. This subterranean nature of the home provides interior grandeur for guests but offers a welcoming and humble approach, fully satisfying the clients requests.
While the lot has an east-west orientation, the home was designed to capture mainly north and south light which is more desirable and soothing. The architecture’s interior loftiness is created with overlapping, undulating planes of plaster, glass, and steel. The woven nature of horizontal planes throughout the living spaces provides an uplifting sense, inviting a symphony of light to enter the space. The more voluminous public spaces are comprised of stone-clad massing elements which convert into a desert pavilion embracing the outdoor spaces. Every room opens to exterior spaces providing a dramatic embrace of home to natural environment.

The material palette began with a rich, tonal, large-format Quartzite stone cladding. The stone’s tones gaveforth the rest of the material palette including a champagne-colored metal fascia, a tonal stucco system, and ceilings clad with hemlock, a tight-grained but softer wood that was tonally perfect with the rest of the materials. The interior case goods and wood-wrapped openings further contribute to the tonal harmony of architecture and materials.

A post-war, Glen Park house was dark and tiny but had good bones and imaginable city views. It was one of those “little boxes on the hillside”. Our design transformed and expanded it into a bright, open, and comfortable four bedroom townhouse with panoramic city views.
A huge new sliding skylight/roof hatch above an open staircase illuminates and seamlessly connects the central living and circulation spaces.
All bedrooms plus a family room/guest suite are oriented towards the rear and front of house, ensuring direct connection to the out of doors, and privacy from family gathering spaces.
The home is modern but has touches of warm traditional styling, anticipating a family with kids, a couple who enjoy entertaining, and or folks who like hunkering down with a good book and a morning cup of coffee.

Luxe pour Maison Salmon Leather, is a new and exciting material! Our eco-friendly leather is made by repurposing a by-prodcut of the salmon industry; salmon skin, which is usually discarded. Salmon skin leather has some truly unique properties, not only aesthetically but physically as well.
It is a very strong & flexible material (more so than cow leather), and it has an amazing 3D texture, which has been compared to snake skin leather, except that salmon leather has a softer suede like feel to it.
At Luxe pour Maison, our mission is to practice and promote the use of sustainable innovation as a process for cultural, environmental and economic development. Sustainable design is our core competency and the common thread uniting every partner and activity we undertake.
We pride ourselves on following fair-trade principals, which create a synergy between local culture and industry; that respects local cultural values and stimulates ethical economic growth in the Chilean Patagonia, a pristine and untouched environment known for its unique beauty.
