Featuring a classic H-shaped plan and minimalist details, the Winston was designed with the modern family in mind. This home carefully balances a sleek and uniform façade with more contemporary elements. Stepping through a pair of natural wood entry doors gives way to sweeping vistas through the living and dining rooms. Anchoring the left side of the main level is a large white kitchen island and tiled glass backsplash. To the right, and behind the living rooms sleek fireplace, is a vertical corridor that grants access to the upper level bedrooms, main level master suite, and lower level spaces. Serving as backdrop to this vertical corridor is a floor to ceiling glass display room for a sizeable wine collection. Set three steps down from the living room and through an articulating glass wall, the screened porch is enclosed by a retractable screen system that allows the room to be heated during cold nights. In all rooms, preferential treatment is given to maximize exposure to the rear yard, making this a perfect lakefront home.

This design blends the recent revival of mid-century aesthetics with the timelessness of a country farmhouse. Each façade features playfully arranged windows tucked under steeply pitched gables. Natural wood lapped siding emphasizes this home's more modern elements, while classic white board & batten covers the core of this house. A rustic stone water table wraps around the base and contours down into the rear view-out terrace.

This home was designed for a professional couple with several children, the promise of many grandchildren, and the prospect of an active retirement in the not too distant future. With a painting studio for her and a study/office for him were special requirements on top of the usual gracious living space, and formal as well as informal dining spaces. The outdoor living areas, terraces, decks, pool, and a boathouse significantly expand the space of the house and opportunities for outdoor leisure activities. The materials are rich throughout—cedar columns and roof deck, slate counters, mesquite and stone floors, and limestone walls inside and out. A small entry court and a terraced deck relate the building to the rapidly changing grade. Large steel trellises with wisteria provide shade for the deck area and block the view of a neighboring house. This house received a Merit Award from the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Featured on the cover of Southern Living, February 2000, for the National Design Award for new construction, this house exemplifies Black + Vernooy’s concept of Texas residential architecture.

Create a casual and sophisticated look with Greenington’s Santa Cruz double dresser. The sleek modern design and simple clean lines of the four-drawer Santa Cruz double dresser features a craftsman-built frame made from solid bamboo, lacquered in a matte black finish on a strong steel base. Black steel accents complement Wheat bamboo drawers and black lacquer surfaces. Each drawer is faced in Wheat solid bamboo material, with a drawer box of warm caramelized solid bamboo, and accented with a slim black steel drawer pull.

J.Holderby - Renovations
Franklin County's Leading General Contractors - 2X Best of Houzz!

This stair designed by KITE Architects was constructed to unify two floors of a rapidly expanding tech company, in the heart of downtown Providence, Rhode Island. It is constructed of painted steel stringers, tubing and plate, and features industrial vulcanized rubber treads and stainless cable railings. Concentric fabricated and installed this stair from start to finish, working alongside MPM properties, ensuring that there was no disruption to the daily workflow of the tech company that remained in residence throughout the renovation.

Nearing completion of their new home construction project, the clients decided to furnish their home with entirely new furniture, art and accessories, bringing nothing with them except their clothes. This was a monumental shopping project for SKP Design! We were asked to accomplish an elegant look on a strict budget, shopping locally and within a quick timeline. We also assisted with selecting paint colors, granite and lighting and helped finalize the fireplace design to pull everything together.
With dark wood floors and coffered ceiling details, the home has traditional elements. However, the homeowners wanted the furnishings to reflect a modern, elegant aesthetic. The dining room features a table for ten and a contemporary crystal chandelier from James R. Moder. Sherwin Williams Grizzle Gray and Gray Clouds are the paint colors used throughout the home. Pendant lights over the kitchen island are from Minka Group. Most of the accessories were purchased from Pottery Barn, HomeGoods, Wayfair and Klingman’s (Grand Rapids and Zeeland).

Ideally suited for use on balconies, porches and decking, Outwater has augmented its offering of contractor's grade balusters, baluster rails, newel and porch posts with the introduction of new motifs to accommodate a range of decorative applications.
Comprising lightweight, durable, high-density polyurethane and non-corrosive structural materials, Outwater's Balustrade System is easy to install using traditional woodworking tools and is internally fortified with large diameter, high strength steel or PVC pipes (varies by model) for enhanced structural integrity as well as to meet stringent building codes.
Furthermore, unlike wood balusters, which require fastidious maintenance in order to avoid possible rotting or splitting, consequently diminishing their strength, Outwater's Balustrade System comes factory primed and is impervious to adverse weather conditions, ensuring its uncompromising dimensional stability and steadfast, enduring safety.
Also, in contrast to cement balustrading, which is unwieldy and necessitates laborious installation by masons, not to mention, being highly susceptible to breaking, crumbling and cracking, Outwater's Balustrade System weighs just a portion of cement balustrading, thus significantly reducing its comparative shipping cost.
Offered in approximate heights from 28-in. to 40-in. with 5-in. to 12-in. rail widths, installations can be further customized with the addition of corner and center newel posts, a variety of post tops, accent moldings and ball ornaments.
Product Features:
• Offered with numerous complementary Balusters, Baluster Rails, Newel and Porch Posts from which to choose
